His rant was in response to the death of Philando Castile, who was fatally shot by police officer Jeronimo Yanez in July 2016 at a stop. He was in the car with his girlfriend, who streamed the aftermath of the shooting on Facebook.

To be honest I had a buddy of mine at ODU who was a dark skinned fellow and long story short said the same thing fred said somewhat, and gave a brutal truth, most people leave the hood, cut themselves off from the trash, and never look back plus hoping they can fit in elsewhere.

Thirty years ago, when I had a beard, long hair, and a VW van, I’d get stopped several times a year (though not for speeding, in that thing). Since I didn’t smoke dope, and was always polite to the cops, I seldom got a ticket.
Now all that’s left is the beard, which is gray, and I have only been pulled over once in the last 12 years or more. That time I was definitely speeding, but was just told to slow down.
Then, after more articles read, I asked again.
He did NOT "start comedy in RSA" at all; not by a long-shot! And since he was born the year before "Saint Nelson" became the president of RSA, he has never known what that nation was like, personally, prior to his birth. I NEVER liked Letterman; heck, after Johnny Carson left, I stopped watching late night shows like that completely. Heck, I didn't even watch the last few years worth of Carson. ;^)

I was stopped once for going 58 mph in a 55 mph zone in 1972. When I pointed out to the officer that the vehicle code didn't even levy any fine or points for fewer than 6 miles over the limit, I got a long lecture as he proceeded to go (illegally) through my car.

Not coming to a complete STOP is a biggie. On Space Shuttle missions, when they return to land in Florida, as the Shuttle rolls to a stop, the Mission Commander onboard says, “Wheels Stop”, into his microphone. THAT is the end of the mission. At a STOP sign, you have not stopped until your wheels STOP.

Car & Driver did a quarter mile run in a Tesla set to Ludicrous Speed mode...once. It was fast, but then the car limped in low speed mode for 15 minutes to cool down the batteries. Do it a few times and you need a recharge.
When I was about 12, my mother got a warning for failing to come to a complete stop. The cop told her that all 4 wheels have to stop rolling, which I thought was extremely funny.
Without knowing why you were stopped we have no idea if that is significant at all. Were you given tickets?
I got stopped 3 times last week for headlight out before I could get it replaced. I drive home after midnight so it wasn’t surprising.
I love how people who have no experience being someone other than themselves can so easily “know” things that they actually can’t possibly know.
