I liked it, though there were many tangents that separated from the main narrative. I thought the Roger Stone character was an awesome addition to the show. I did think, however, some of the ways the Underwood's dealt with the characters in the season were a bit melodramatic.
Should I even finish season 4? I never did.
You should. I honestly thought showing Frank as trapped and unpopular was a great statement for his depiction of the search for power. Besides, season 5 didn’t really address Trump (just the possibility of hacking), so it was watchable.
For some reason, I cant get myself to watch much of season 5. Politics is so nasty these days, that I cannot bring myself to watching even more of it... even if it is fiction.
Watched Ep 1.
A bit too much politics for me right now.
I’ll eventually get around to watching the remaining episodes.
This IS my season for binge watching, since there is little new on the regular channels.
I don’t care much for Spacey’s acting style and that whole breaking the fourth wall shtick that he does is not clever and comes off as ego-feeding.
Hurry up Game of Thrones!
Just watching it now. Couldn’t believe they touched on “Bohemian Grove “.
My relative is an actor in this series.
Frankly, I prefer the BBC version, IMHO.
I believe they made his wife annoying on purpose to show she can’t compete with Claire.
I quit a couple of episodes into season 5. The show is ridiculous. To see it done right watch the original Brit version. Hollywood simply drags things on too long.
With steadily declining quality HoC has landed on my “get around to it” list, no longer on my “ooh it’s finally available”. I’ve got about 8 seasons of various things I’ll be getting too first.
It means you can develop characters and situations more than you can in a film or short series.
Even Ian Richardson, if he were still around, might appreciate the opportunity to explore aspects of his character that he couldn't in the British series.
You got why I stopped watching it. Thanks for giving me the courage to finish last season and start the next. ;)
Ping
I watched season 1, then thought to myself who needs this crap.
Corpses added reminded of the Clinton Body Count. The realism of the series so far is there is no justice for the powerful.
Thought Season 5 was best of all and unfortunately explains much of what we see in DC these days. The Bohemian Grove part was hilarious. Have watched the BBC version and hope Frank meets the same end.
I thought Meacham had been killed last season, though now he’s there as if nothing had happened.
w, thanks.
Definitely better to me than The West Wing was :)
