I’m watching one episode every evening over supper.
Episode 5 is tonight. I’m not reading any of this thread in case of spoilers. :)
BTW, Lynn Vincent, who was Palin’s biographer (at first) said she thinks a “cheeky” set designer put it in there to screw with Kevin Spacey. If you note, Greenspan’s book is at the other end.
That would be sweet. I approve of tweaking him at every turn.
I really liked the early seasons though.
Spacey really filled out the Underwood character and took it places the English show didn't go.
It was always a little out of date, though: somebody with Frank Underwood's background wouldn't make it to the top of the Democratic party nowadays
I read this thread before season 5 was released on Netflix, where I watch the show.
I was very pleased at the season’s comeback from season 4, which just wasn’t as deep or textured.
I have the season finale to watch tonight.
The more I watch the show, the more it seems to be based on a medley of Dems. The evil of people who will go to all lengths to secure power. And the people who have passion for the political game that overrides common sense.
I don’t know whether the writers or the producers realize how much of a indictment the show is, of current behaviors of the murky middle and leftists of DC. This show is a an expose of the sorts of behaviors of Clintons, Pelosi, McCain, Bohnerer, Comey, the Obamas, Bushes, and other powerplayers and the media,
Human evil writ large. I hope you are enjoying it too. I would love to discuss the characters sometime.
I also understand that season 6 is going to be the wrap up. I already look forward to it.
As I mentioned before, I very much enjoyed the Roger Stone character and his female counterpart, they add complexity... This season gives a more accurate portrayal of how the NWO works than simply being president.
you must be talking abot the characters Mark Usher and Jane Davis.
I am not sure who Roger Stone is, but these two broaden the scope of the series.
It is so amazing to me, I have caught a bit where people compare Frank Underwood to Trump.
They are projecting, he is a combination of the last three Democrat presidents with a little Jimmy Carter thrown in.
Good insight. Research Roger Stone, and if you have Netflix, watch his documentary, he’s one of the pioneers of modern politics and a very annoying gnat on the behind of the establishment.
I just watched the last episode last evening.
My Turn.
Wow, A Clinton It’s Her Turn.
I couldn’t believe it.
This is NWO middle and leftists all mixed together. The newspaper which is supposed to be the WP is going after a DEM. Wow. This is like a mirror image of the world today.
I will research and watch Stone documentary tonight.
Ditto.
How much this series reflects today's Washington DC is almost scary.
On the whole, I think season 5 was better than season 4. The bummer is we have to wait who knows how long for season 6.
Personally, The last couple episodes were so depressing because it felt like this is currently how our political process is. Power at all cost. This season felt like Obama, Bill, and Cankles wrapped into one Big HOC’s sandwich. I didn’t mention bush because to me, he’s just a naive wimp who wouldn’t fight back even when he knew what he was up against. Much like the president that Frank Underwood punked to become president.
