Could that have been made by Paul Bunyan’s ox?
Oh my.
Have you ever taken a Rorschach test?
That horseshoe is “pointed” at the Yucatan peninsula. Could a blob from that asteroid from 65 million years ago have affected that feature?
[The map] was created by a government agency youve likely never heard of called the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM)
**************
There are countless such agencies in the federal government. A virtual constellation of bureaucracies, many of whom work in areas that overlap and often duplicate the work of other agencies. These redundancies are very expensive and wasteful.
Its a cool map, but did we need another nondescript government agency to produce this?
More to the point—Where in the Constitution is the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management authorized?
Meteor impact crater. That would be a sterilizer for the North American continent.
Not any more, because they always make them to look like a penis. And when you say “that’s a penis”, they schedule more therapy and slap you with a bill. It’s a scam.
I’m impressed! Lets talk about Michelle’s butt.
We need to demand that our elected officials commit to substantially reducing the size of government when they ask for our votes. Never let them off the hook. Votes should be conditional on seeing specific plans from challengers and/or specific actions from incumbents. This has to be a top priority for voters because an expansive government is costly, inefficient, and dangerous to our freedoms.
Now that there's just damned funny.
Of course, much of the Gulf of Mexico was dry land before the global warming melted the great glacier.
Looks like point of impact of meteor many moons ago.
When I was a kid I used to wonder why geodes were found around Tampa Bay. Certainly Fla was never volcanic or igneous.
Years later it was established a meteor had hit Earth near what is the Yucatan Peninsular.
That map sure looks like the spot.
I always thought that the entire Gulf could be an impact crater, modified by some rotational aspects of the region since.
I argued this with a geology teacher at college years ago, but he thought it was all rotational.
But just look at it. Basin, central peak, etc.... Similar to a lot of impact craters on the Moon.
I always answer “vagina”, no matter what the image is. They try to schedule me for more therapy but I tell them it’s a bad time of the month.
I’d expect lots of fractured, glassy, rock to have fanned out over the SE states, and been observed by “Big Oil” geologists.
Hmmm, just noticed the latitude. Much farther N. than Yucatan.
Miami is approx 25 3/4º.
27º would be W of Sarasota, Ft. Myers
Tampa is 28º
The Wapo has a whole slew of unnamed sources that say Trump has made a deal with the ChiComs to let them build artificial islands in the mapped area. They will donate 20% of the proceeds to his new foundation. /sarc
