First joke the nomination goes to Putin, then suggest Janet Reno. After looking suficiently sorry to hear she is dead, maybe pick anyone who is interested in pursuing what Comey dropped the ball on.

Sheriff Clarke would be my first choice too. Whoever it is it needs to be someone outside of the FBI and Justice Department.

If he’s an LEO you’ve heard of, he’s probably a bad pick. No glory hounds or ambitious politicians. Sorry, Rudy, Chris. And Joe might’ve known what issue to ride to fame, but he WAS crooked as crooked could be.

Too old?
Until a person is senile or just needs to lie down, there is no such thing as too old.
Cheese, the President is 70 and he's full of energy...and good sense.

Someone like new Deputy AG Rod Rosenstein is far more likely than anyone known too well for their politics.
Rosenstein is kind of a pit bull and has already been approved once by the Senate.

I dont know who he will really pick, but someone from the White House should leak to the press that it will be GEN Michael Flynn - just to drive the left absolutely nuts. Better yet, this guy. Just for the entertainment value alone of watching DC swamprats' heads explode.

I think Matt Gaetz would be a fine choice. He is a very solid conservative from Florida’s First Congressional District.
He is not a cop but is a lawyer.
