A man is suing American Airlines for $100,000 after he was crushed by two obese passengers during a 14-hour flight and left with permanent back and neck injuries.
Michael Anthony Taylor, 67, claims airline staff refused to let him change seats on the flight from Sydney to Los Angeles, despite his desperate pleas to move.
The Wollongong man says he was forced to crouch, kneel, brace and stand throughout the lengthy flight, which also aggravated his existing condition of curvature of the spine.

I didn’t mean to crush him, but he kept talking about Vegemite and crocodiles.
Looks like those two obsese men sat in the back of plane..and obviously had an effect on the landing gear..
Sir, we don’t think you’re a coach seat.
Little brother: “He’s a stage coach seat!”

I know I would not put up with some fat person sticking their fat into the space I paid for.
Look at that fuselage.
I thought morbidly obese people had to buy two seats.
I sat next to a guy like that on a one hour flight. Not cool.
Pfwaaap.
Fear much trouble :)
I know someone with bad back problems.
They hardly ever fly, knowing that airline seats are one of the last places to spend a long amount of time with a bad back.
The few times he has flown he’s paid for 1st class, just to save his back.
The airline should have tried to be accommodating, seeking other passengers who might be willing to trade seats.
On the other side of it, they guy certainly, with a curvature of the spine, was not expecting any economy class airline seat to give him great comfort for 14 hours.

I much Fear trouble in the fuselage Frederic.
I Much Fear There`s Some Nut Trying To Read Your Lips
Fat people need to be forced to buy two seats.
I hope he wins. Its ridiculous the seats should be able to seat normal sized men. And they just don’t. Men over 6 foot or with wide shoulders get crushed. I rarely fly any more and I am just 6 foot and 200 lbs. Its just not comfortable unless I pay up. I would rather drive even if its 6 hours. Better than dealing with the small seats, bad service, TSA, and delays. Flying is my last choice.
You do not need to be fat. Just have to have wide shoulders or be tall.
ROFL!!
There’s an enormous woman blocking the aisle!!
Maybe airline seats should be wide enough to accommodate fat people.
Airline seats are currently designed only to comfortably accommodate small children and adults with anorexia who have had their legs amputated.
I would much rather drive six hours because it’s gonna take you three, maybe even four hours to go to the airport, park, take the shuttle, check in, be anal probed and nude photographed, board, fly, deplane, pick up luggage, secure ground transportation, hopefully get where you’re going. Unless they’re late. Ugh. I hate’em too.
