Are you handy enough that if a lightbulb went out in your home youd be able to change it? Believe it or not, one in five people arent so skilled. In fact, a new survey of people in the United Kingdom finds not only do about 20 percent of people not know how to change a bulb the same number arent sure how to boil an egg, either.

I use the same method and it works very well.
I think we average about 10 dozen in the fridge at any given time, mostly farm fresh and some grocery store eggs when they’re super cheap.
I think theres something wrong with eggs these days. I cant get the shells to come off without leaving a shredded mess. That doesnt matter if its going to be egg salad, but it ruins your deviled eggs.
It might not be an actual inability, it may be that they don’t have the proper government-issued license to do so.
WOW. 1 in 5.
I just tried the method in your third link and darned if the eggs didn’t practically slide out of their shells. May not prove anything though as these were supermarket eggs, not farm fresh. But I just bought them two days ago so they definitely hadn’t been sitting around my fridge for weeks. I’m going to try this again the next time I can get hold of some fresh eggs. Pretty cool if it really does solve the difficult peeling issue.
Clearly this thread has been egg-jacked.
Eggs in pan with cold water. Bring to boil. turn off and let sit 20 minutes. Cold water plunge and then peel
Alternative. Crack eggs into egg molds like pro chefs.
No but they probably can change an egg.
After the eggs cool off I palm one and gently press on it till it cracks into about four big pieces and off comes the shell.
Speaking of scrambled eggs, my dad showed me how to make omelets really fluffy. He separates the whites from the yolks, whips the whites vigorously and then introduces the yolks at the end just before pouring it all into the pan for cooking. It’s a significant difference over just cracking the eggs into a bowl and scrambling them.
Something about the proteins.
I’ve seen candle holders that match that description. Google the phrase “spike candle holder”.
Immediately get the finished eggs into ice water and put plenty of salt into the boiling water
No, but I'm keeping track. One of my daughters wants to make deviled eggs for a church event next weekend.
I switched from milk to water in the mixture to get them fluffier. Separating the eggs sounds like more work than I’m willing to do.
I can boil a light bulb.
That’s my method, still have some sticky shells...
Didn’t know about egg molds. Seems like a dirty secret...
That way they do not have to stop smoking.
I was just gonna say, of the 2.7 million mudhens in the UK, betcha less than 50% can boil water or know which end of the light bulb goes in the socket.
I am sure there is a rule by Human Health and Safety rules that forbids putting in light bulbs and heating anything to a boiling temperature.
I use fresh eggs, still warm from the hen. Drop them into boiling water for a few minutes then run cold over them. They peel easily. Eat a week old egg? How crude.
