I think there’s something wrong with eggs these days. I can’t get the shells to come off without leaving a shredded mess. That doesn’t matter if it’s going to be egg salad, but it ruins your deviled eggs.


Yes, I’ve noticed this too. I was told that it was because the eggs were too fresh, so I left them in the fridge a month and still a pain to peel. My neighbor said she did the same thing with the same results.

Eggs in pan with cold water. Bring to boil. turn off and let sit 20 minutes. Cold water plunge and then peel

Alternative. Crack eggs into egg molds like pro chefs.
