This thread is non-political, although you will find that most here are conservative folks. No matter what, you won’t be flamed and the only dumb question is the one that isn’t asked.
It is impossible to hijack the Weekly Gardening Thread. Planting, Harvest to Table(recipes)preserving, good living - there is no telling where it will go and... that is part of the fun and interest. Jump in and join us!

So what are you using for back up? I have been thinking that I need to do something like that - don’t want anything to do with cloud storage though, and I am techno-challenged ignorant all thumbs with computer.

Please keep us posted on how the experiment works. I love to try out stuff like that too. Sometimes it works and sometimes not. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
A little sad here in Virginia that our 2-yo peach tree gave us a profusion of nice pink blossoms 3 weeks ago, but got nipped by a freeze overnight and lost all those infant fruit. She gave us five nice peaches last July. But she’s fighting back with a couple dozen more blossoms coming now. She seems to know her previous planned 2017 family was not to be, so she’s trying again. Go! Peach.

(((Wintry Mix this Weekend!)))
I used a USB Flash Drive & backed up my “Documents” & “Pictures”. I keep my backups for my journal (Rednotebook), Family Legacy program, EZ Addressbook & Home Cookin’ recipe program in a ‘Backups’ folder in ‘Documents’ so I can restore data.
Funny thing, the laptop was setting off my ‘spidey sense’ - you get to know them pretty well & when they start acting a little weird, you know it. I was thinking of getting an external hard drive & using a program like Macrium Reflect, but all of that was $$ so I decided to stick with the USB flash. I figured if the laptop crashed that badly, I’d likely need a new one & would not be doing a system restore. Sure enough, that’s what happened. Other things I did - I made sure I had all the license/customer numbers/registration numbers etc. for my paid programs so I can get them reloaded on the new laptop. I printed out a phonebook from my EZ addressbook so I at least had that & I printed out my spreadsheet (updated to be current) with all my passwords & other important info I keep on it (it’s password protected). I also went through all the bookmarks on my bookmarks toolbar, pulled them up one by one & copied the links & saved it in my Rednotebook journal. Once I got that restored, I just pulled up the links & re-bookmarked everything. I also wrote down every icon on my desktop so I would know what else to load without thinking about it too hard such as OpenOffice & Foxit Reader.
So, bottom line, at a minimum back up your files like documents, pictures, backups from any programs you have. The USB flash drive I have was $20 & 64GB so it holds a lot. You can get two & alternate them or keep one offsite.
This is my first experience with Windows 10. I’m not so old I can’t learn ‘new tricks’, but I’m having to look a lot of stuff up .... also put on Classic Shell so the startup menu looks like Win 7 & I don’t have to deal with “tiles”. There’s also a lot of stuff to turn ‘off’ to maintain some sort of privacy. Sigh. The one good thing - my first laptop was an HP & I truly loved it. The replacement was a Dell & that’s the one that crashed - I won’t miss it - we were barely friends. This new one is another HP & so far, I think I’m going to love this one, too.

Thanks for the update. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for the peach. We have a lot of that trouble here in MO. Lucky to get a crop once every 4 years.
Greetings from southern New Hampshire where we have more than three inches of snow, so far today. We may have as much as 12” due by the end of tomorrow.

The laundry basket strawberry planter is great, thanks for telling us.
It’s been a busy week here in North Alabama, I managed to plant 700 tomatoes and 600 squash plants. One good thing about planting on plastic mulch is the weather doesn’t matter once the plastic is laid the bad thing is walking in mud all day and busting your butt several times hurts these old bones. My first market of the year is Cullman county tomorrow morning, I have a truck bed full of one gallon buckets full of strawberries to sell. I will try and post a few pics latter in the week.

Don’t be. The tree produces up to 650 pounds of mangoes twice a year.It isn’t hard to get tired of eating them but the solid waste authority won’t pick up a whole trash can of them. Since every third house here has a mango tree in the yard they are even hard to give away
It is always dropping leaves.
Mango trees take a lot of maintenance.
