Poor little rich girl. The youngest person ever to win the lottery in Britain wants to sue the jackpot honchos who made her wealthy because the dough ruined her life, according to a report. Jane Park, 21 who won $1.25 million playing Euromillions at age 17 says she was too young to cope with the sudden flood of wealth, according to the UK Mirror. At times it feels like winning the lottery has ruined my life. I thought it would make it 10 times better but its made it 10 times worse, she moaned to the paper.

did her parents not raise her to be ready, or help her make good choices after the win? she was still a teen.
9no i didn’t click on article to read)
I think can be a very difficult situation. A lot of people think they’ll drop cash on people and all will be well.
Didn’t work for the rich young ruler; though the unjust servant flipped the situation. Which was interesting because he basically short-changed his boss, who then praised him.
I see people go on TV after they win and I just shake my head. A very bad idea.
And then her problem will be solved.
$1.25 million isnt all that much. Gone in a flash if theres no discipline.
Not many people could live on that over any length of time.
Having the money means you could chose to live where the living is cheap, because you do not need a job.
But few have even a little discipline when it comes to money.
Is she suing for more money? Won’t that make her more miserable?
She should just give back the $1.25 mil-—with interest.
Then she’ll be back in happyville.
What she found out was that some friends and some family are just there for the cash.

Old story about a ‘rich’ guy marrying the love of his life.
She came from a ‘big’ family.
When asked how he would handle the family he said simple:
“I will seek out those with money and ask to borrow some and then loan it to the poorer ones.
You can bet neither will show up at my door again.”
That’s what my first wife used to tell me I would do but always with a big smile on her face!
You bring that up but I’ve often wondered if that’s the best thing for your donation buck- investing in hospitals. If you were rich enough to build a hospital, I think you would end up doing the most good- even after you die. People are healed, babies born- so much better than rich folks these days using their money to subvert and bring down.
lol
Well said.
I cant imagine a teenager grasping the concept of what 1.25 million is.
It wouldn't surprise me if she's close to being broke already.
I am floored somewhat of just how many "friends and long-lost family" come out from every rock and come asking for $ from lottery winners.
Then again look at all of the pro athletes who made 10s-100s of millions over their careers that are broke.
I'm sure that having your crew and posse with you and flashing your diamond rings was fun, but now what the hell do you do do when your 150K/month child support for your nine kids by five women comes due?
Don't pro teams warn/educate these guys against this kind of behavior?
“True. This isnt that much money, really. (meaning its not as much as some people might think)”
I was born in South Carolina five days before the D-Day invasion of Normandy. I would estimate that a dollar is worth now, in this area, approximately what a nickel was worth when I was born. It depends on how you compute it but if you’re referencing real estate it is not even worth that much. If you compare total living costs for an equivalent lifestyle it can’t possibly be worth much more than that. Anyone who had a hundred thousand dollars in 1944 could have put it in the bank at three percent and supported a family on the interest for some years before it was no longer enough. Now you could easily spend the hundred grand in one year without any great extravagance.
I know a woman who was in a shelter for abused women with her 4 kids. She spent her last dollar on a lottery ticket and won just over 10 million. She lived lavishly, married a loser who did drugs, had a couple more kids, and is now back on welfare, working part-time to make ends meet.
They were interviewed by the local paper and we stupid enough to say they had no regrets. Lived high on the hog for awhile, but are back to poverty, which they are used to anyway. I don’t see how someone qualifies for a handout if you’ve blown through 10 million, but I guess when kids are involved they don’t care how stupid you are.
How can she feel empty inside with all that silicone? ;)
Seriously, the best lottery win was the financial advisor from Santa Barbara. Don’t remember his exact job but he was in some financial or investment biz. He played his $20 every week. He was married with two adult kids. When he actually won the lottery, he and his wife both kept their jobs. They fixed up the house they already loved. They each got a brand new car (but not too fancy). They decided that every year, they would take a vacation wherever they wanted. The rest was invested and saved. That is the way to handle a lottery win.
I’ve been told that going from Rich to poor is devastating and leads to a life of many regrets. Maybe even suicide for some. But there is a type of person that can rally themselves and step back up and dust themselves off and make it back to big earnings.
Those type of people don’t sue lottery offices.
I could live easily on that.
I really don’t care to have that much stuff.
And here she is....

$100k in 1944 would probably be equivalent to a few million today, especially measured in gold or silver.
Tell you what, I'm here for you. When you get that money, spare yourself the burden you just experienced. Send it to me. I'll be more than happy to bear the unpleasantness so you won't have to.
She certainly likes to show off her boobs.
I’ll bet that the lawsuit is because she is almost out of money and needs more.
