The Logan Act of 1799, which most Americans have never heard about and which has never been enforced, has suddenly become a big topic in Washington. It would be funny if it weren’t serious.
The target is national security adviser Michael Flynn. There are plenty of reasons to wonder about Flynn’s policies, most notably on Iran. But in Washington, political differences have become war by other means. What Flynn’s views are isn’t even the main issue. Instead, it’s what can be used to take him down only a few weeks into his new post..........
If Flynn did, indeed, suggest that Russia exercise “restraint” last December, he broke no law and did no damage. He was guilty of nothing but urging calmness and common sense at a time when many partisan politicians on the Left were trying to delegitimize the legal election results and destabilize an orderly transfer of power, sometimes with street violence—an approach that they are continuing to cultivate, as far as possible.

If he told the Russian ambassador: “We’ll have more flexibility after the election” - he’d only be quoting the former president
And suppose Flynn's response was "I simply don't know what President Trump has under consideration."

This is all garbage...the media doesn’t like Flynn, he knows that and so does President Trump...do you think for a minute that President Trump would have put him up for any office without knowing every hair in Flynn’s closet...not on your life...

Flynn came to prominence because he exposed how the Obama administration was knowingly arming and supporting al-Qaeda in Syria.
All the venom directed towards Flynn is coming from people who are angry about that.
The relentless, unfounded, largely unsuccessful pursuit by THE LOSERS in their effort to lord it over THE WINNERS may be the thing which transforms the Republicans into a brutal political party which takes no prisoners, ousts cowards like John McCain, Paul Ryan and Lyndsey Graham, and which uses every possible means to finally triumph over the radical anti-American left.
Something has to light a fire under the GOP. Crap like this Ivanka thing and this Michael Flynn thing just might do it.
Alan Dershowitz said the other day on Fox News that the Logan Act has never been enforced and is probably unenforceable.
A few years ago I was watching television and Flynn was on dressed in his military uniform.
At one point in the interview he commented on Obama not calling the problem Muslim Oriented.
That caught my attention and shortly thereafter Flynn said he had been at war with radical Islam for 10 years.
I jumped up and said to my wife "take a good look at that General, because he won't be seen again on TV.
Ultimately Flynn was forced out and when he next surfaced he was in civilian clothes campaigning with Donald Trump.
Flynn knows, as does Bannon, the problem with terrorism is following Islam itself as Muhammad did, and that drives the left crazy. -Tom

I could not care less what he said to the Russians about it. The only reason it would even be mentioned is because Obutthole put more sanctions in place on his way just to mess Trump up.

Enough already. NSA or someone has a recording of that phone call. Just play the thing. If he did violate the Logan Act, fire him. If not, then the lib news needs to report it and finally shut up about it.
If libs continue this, then we need to bring up the fact that Teddy the Swimmer, while he was a Senator, and John Kerry, negotiated their own positions with the North Vietnamese during the Paris peace talks at the end of the Vietnam war. After all, Kerry was a private citizen, at the time, just like Mike Flynn was when he was speaking the Russian Foreign Minister, after all, he wasn’t a Cabinet member at the time.
