“They’ve been horribly treated,” Trump said in an interview with Christian Broadcasting Network anchor David Brody. “Do you know if you were a Christian in Syria it was impossible, at least very tough, to get into the United States?”
“If you were a Muslim you could come in, but if you were a Christian, it was almost impossible and the reason that was so unfair, everybody was persecuted in all fairness, but they were chopping off the heads of everybody but more so the Christians. And I thought it was very, very unfair. So we are going to help them.”
When asked by Brody if he saw helping persecuted Christians abroad as a “priority,” Trump promptly replied, “yes.”
Trump’s comments come as the president considers an executive order that would ban refugees from certain Muslim-majority countries from coming to the U.S., and would suspend the country’s refugee resettlement program for 120 days.

Far too easy for a terrorist to fake being a Christian. Even if they are Christians, this doesn’t mean they are compatible with our culture. There have been numerous cases of supposedly Christian Somalis, for example, who have been brought to this country and who have raped women and children.
That was the original intent of the refugee program-to rescue the Christians from persecution. It was Obama who decided we needed to import muslims instead.

I believe all immigrants have to go through lengthy interviews and background checks to get visa; just spend a half hour discussing Christian theology and their faith; get contact information for their pastor, family, friends, other Christians, etc. Send out investigators to verify. Not too hard.

I live in a county that has a very small Syrian Christian community. Anti-Jew up the wazoo! I know Trump is doing the right thing here as long as he does extreme vetting. Middle-Eastern Christians have drunk the islam Jew hatred for many centuries.

to vet a Christian from a Muslim country just ask other Christians from the area. I think a Muslim would have a hard time hiding in the Christian immigrant community.

Not as easy as it sounds.
Remember, most of these refugees are coming from countries who are still at war.
This means .. churches have been bombed, any records in the churches are probably buried under rubble, or burned beyond recognition. And, possibly, any church elders were killed in the bombing.
They may have a document, but there is nobody to verify it’s authenticity.
None of that sounds “easy” to me.
Why shouldn’t he say it? It’s OK to have good intentions, as long as you don’t express them? PC days are over.
