Ostrich hit by car after activists “free” it from circus

Where does a bearded lady go to find work?
I got close to some trapeze artists once and their costumes were filthy. I got back stage at a Conway Twityy concert and the band’s costumes were filthy, too. Just sayin’.
I went to the circus museum last year. Plenty of kids interested in it.
Caving to the animal rights wackos really hurt them.
If this is due to over-regulation, maybe things can change.
They're wonderfully consistent.
They ruin everything.
I like your humor.
Thank you for that link. It’s wonderful. Aside for his love of America and his animals; I always had the sense that in contrast to the antis, Gunter would never have tolerated anything but the best for his animals. He had a special bond with them. Respect. The original *Lord of the Rings*.
It’s sad to see RB close, it’s the end of era; there will never be another Gunter.
Maybe they could make it a fixed attraction, in Florida near all the other touristy things? That would cut down expenses quite a bit.
When I was maybe 7 or 8, I would watch every second of the TV commercial for the Ringling Bros circus with my face inches from the screen. I thought it was the most amazing and interesting thing in the world.
At the end of the commercial I saw that the dates of the show included my birthday, but I never dared to hope to go to the circus. My family never did anything like that because we had no money and the bills were treated like a member of the family.
At dinner one night my mom asked what I wanted for my birthday. I was expected to say something like a coloring book or a squirt gun, but I said I would like to go to the circus. Every head turned and the table fell silent. It was a bold move.
When my birthday came, instead of a present there was an envelope next to the birthday cake. Circus tickets for the whole family!
It was the best birthday I can remember, and I have loved the circus ever since. But when they took the elephants out, I knew it wouldn’t be long before it would be lost to history.
That is where it all started and they have the Circus World Museum there. I used to go through that town a lot in my younger days since I worked for a guy who was from there and had several small logging jobs to finish around there.
That’s a shame. An American institution, I regret never going.
Congress was already the leading home of clowns, now it stands alone.
Just another thing in our culture the LIBS have taken from us!!!
I wonder if they will still hold this in Baraboo? The Big Top Parade!

Now this is one thing that should be considered in the National Historical Registry and kept up somehow under that.
Great memory. I loved the Cisco Kid and Poncho. Hadn’t thought about them for years. So sad that kids aren’t going to get to enjoy things that challenges all their senses.
Makes my heart hurt when I think about the things from my childhood that aren’t around any more because some people or group couldn’t leave well enough alone and mind their own business.
The longer I think about this, the more upset I become.
They’re destroying everything that was right and good about this country.
What a great story!
What a shame. Remember my parents taking me to see them as a child.
