Experts in the U.K. were stunned recently when a tiny Egyptian mummy, long thought to be the remains of a hawk, was revealed to be a human baby.
The ancient mummy, which is part of the Maidstone Museums collection, underwent a Computerized Tomography (CT) scan at the Kent Institute of Medicine and Surgery (KIMS).
Following the scans at KIMS Hospital, the remains were in fact revealed to be the mummy of a baby, said Samantha Harris, the Collections Manager at Maidstone Museum, in a statement. Initial reviews identified the baby to be a miscarried c.20-week gestation foetus which, if found to be the case, will be one of the youngest human mummies recorded anywhere in the world.
The CT scan gave experts the opportunity to study the mummy, which could be 2,300 years old, without damaging it. Without access to the technology, identifying and learning about the baby mummy wouldve been impossible without causing irreversible damage from unwrapping, said Harris.

No doubt given the climate of gender confusion that seems to be expanding.
“You’re a bad man!”
I get that a lot...
;-)
Yeah but you do not expect a child that young would be a mummy already. But then again we are talking about Muslim societies. 8>)

I hope you are historically joking this was way before islam and Christianity.
Cheech and Chong? Up in Smoke?
So it was just a mashup of times, religions and beliefs, all in an attempt to keep the mummy game going.
But thanks, I was aware of that fact.
I heard the kid’s name was Hawke.
Ping
“I shall call him, Minny Mummy Me.”
That baby had big feet.
Sorry, I work with some people who are historically ignorant and it was a reflex.
Just SMILE and keep thinking pleasant thoughts!
No problem. Must not have been a good joke on my part since I had to explain it. 8>)
I'd be interested to know if any of the scientists who thought she was a hawk are among those declaring human-caused climate change to be "settled science."
