Amazon worth more than Sears, Macy's and Target combined

Did you buy nearly all your presents for the holidays at Amazon? I did. And I must not be alone. Jeff Bezos is the new Santa Claus. But to the rest of retail, Bezos is the evil Krampus that's punishing them all for their naughty behavior. Consider this. Amazon (AMZN, Tech30) is now worth more than these 10 well-known retailers combined: Macy's (M), Kohl's (KSS), Sears (SHLD), JCPenney (JCP), Nordstrom (JWN), Best Buy (BBY), Barnes & Noble (BKS), Dillard's (DDS), Gap (GPS) and Target (TGT).

And Macy's is about to close *50* more stores! This in addition to all the stores they've already closed.

Not bad for a small bookseller 20 years ago.

Bezos is obnoxious when it comes to politics.

Yeah they are closing the big Sears store near me in Chillicothe Ohio. Last time we went in there (last Summer) it looked like it had been looted. Stuff laying around half-assembled, shelves empty, empty boxes everywhere it was depressing.

Paypal caused me to avoid eBay several years ago. In that time I discovered Amazon and then an interesting thing happened. It suddenly hit me that Amazon has completely replaced eBay for me. The only places I buy stuff online are MCMelectronics, Amazon and Costco.

And occasionally Sweetwater.

Sears appears to have decided that they are going out of business. But for some reason they are dragging it out. They sold the Craftsman brand the other day.

I don’t use Ebay that much any more except for NOS jeep, cb750k, and old K5 blazer parts.

The ‘Zon is tough to beat.

There was a recall on some Willys jeep steering gear rebuild kits that Amazon tipped me about. I’m grateful for it.

I checked with Omix ADA and my kit was from a good batch.

We have seven of those stores in my town of 35,000 and I buy more from Amazon than all seven combined.

A local radio show host here talking about the 12/26 mass fights by teens organized on social media described it as a whopping advertisement for Amazon Prime.

Amazon is a horizontally integrated tax avoidance scheme.

Bezos opens up new businesses at a loss anytime he might earn a profit.

He only made one mistake: Amazon Web Services (”the cloud”) grew so fast he accidentally made money and was taxed.

Amazon’s business model is otherwise approximately:

TAXES ARE FOR STUPID PEOPLE.

Yeah but he supported Hillary and he is bordering on violating anti-trust laws which Trump said he is going to look into. Screw that twerp, he’s putting all these companies out of business destroying jobs then he turns around and supports the candidate who would completely screw over the working class even more, screw that rat, plus I heard he treats his employees like utter crap.

Dude

like it’s cash flow negative also

so the tax avoidance angle is ruled out
