So I'm sitting at a new position on one of the largest military bases in the USA and I have a nice cushy office, good pay and great benefits and it turns out on the second day.
I find out I'm working with a hard core (probably a card carrying communist) punk 30 year old that does nothing but sits at his computer, does no work and spouts off about Mr. Trump non stop, quotes CNN/MSNBC news like its Gospel and slams vets.
Any comments on what I might say come Monday morning to stop this?

Would need more information to even begin to think of your options. Such as is he a Federal employee or a contractor? Much harder to get rid of a Federal employee, as it has to be documented five ways to...
Anyway provide as much information as you can and still feel relatively comfortable about it, and not expose yourself to unnecessary blow back.
Currently my best advice for right now is to ignore him as much as is humanly possible. You can tell him that you do not talk about politics at work and that you wish he would respect that and refrain from engaging in political discussions. Do it nicely. If he persists then you have something you can take up the chain of command within that office, if you feel comfortable doing so.
Oh that will not happen he slams Christians as well

Is he military or civilian? If military, wait until January 21, then rat him out under Article 88 of UCMJ.
Just let him spout! Everyone else already knows he’s a douch but you will be the better man for ignoring his ignorance...at least for now.

Tape a box of bait shop crickets under his desk.
And then post it on all the conservative websites and watch it go viral...bingo, one more @sshole down the toilet!

Step by step. Acquire an audio/visual recording device that you can wear in your shirt pocket. Make sure you key it on whenever you see him acting out. Do not encourage or go along with his behavior in any way -— or even try to stop it. Let him dig his own huge hole. Put the recordings together with a short 2-3 minute clip of the worst offenses -— followed by the entire raw tape. If you’re not sure how to do this, you might contact the folks at Project Veritas. Finally, once you have sufficient backup, file a hostile workplace complaint. If you don’t get the response you need within a reasonable time, send the video to the Base Commander’s office and Veterans groups. Like others said, he is stealing time, and Veterans don’t deserve to have to deal with his type.
Buy some popcorn. These types will implode sooner or later.
Download porn onto his computer over a period of time.
You know there’s nothing smarter or more knowledgeable than a 30 year old, right? They have all the answers. Have no idea why they think anyone should believe what they’re talking about but it doesn’t seem to shut them up...

Private recording devices are probably against security regulations.
