Hey now, there’s a “right” to npr just like there’s a “right” to early termination of pregnancy. Right?

Not one dollar.

Imagine how much the government could make selling licenses to broadcast on the lower end of the spectrum. Each market seems to have 3-5 NPR stations broadcasting the same tired junk.

I enjoy their production, but it has the most politically bigoted content I’ve ever heard.

They target and loathe anything remotely conservative or law abiding.

IMHO, they exercise a conflict of interest in being funded by the US Budget. Not only should they be charged, arrested, and judged, they and those who support their government funding should be incarcerated.

NO!!!

My wife listens to that crap. They were openly anti-Trump during the election season, some of their reporters even admitted that they felt it was their duty to “protect” voters from this dangerous candidate.

Even if NPR wasn’t blatant Globalist Propaganda there is no need for taxpayer-funded media in the USA. Americans have no difficulty producing plenty of media content through the free-market system.

I say no tax payer funds for NPR. Now if people contribute their own money (non tax deductible) to keep it running I am OK with that.

Although $445,000,000 is a lot of money, the story attempts to make the point that it's "only" 0.014 percent of the US budget. Well, it's nearly half a billion dollars. A half billion here, and a half billion there, pretty soon you're talking real money.

That's the only way the federal budget will actually become rational - a half billion here, and a half billion there. The ENTIRE grant to NPR is an excellent place to start.

This is one great place to save money.

NPR should be privatized.

Absolutely defund NPR. It was the only station (via the college towns, Ithaca, etc,) I could pick up on a recent trip out in rural New York State. The propaganda announced in robotic tones was beyond horrible.

Just defund it - don’t try to make it conservative because that goes against our conservative principles anyway; the principles of not using government funding for things that it has no business funding.

Radio needs to be in a capitalist competitive market driven environment just like the arts, etc.

The rule in DC is: If it is leftist, it gets public funding. The RINOs always fold.

Imagine if the NRA, which actually supports a Constitutional Amendment, got public funding...
