A **Simple** Proposal to Reduce K-12 Costs andFree Children from K-12 Indoctrination Camps
wintertime | December 4, 2016 | wintertime

Posted on 12/04/2016 7:36:12 AM PST by wintertime

Proposal:

Award any child ( regardless of age) an official high school diploma from his local high school if they score above a certain level on the SAT, ACT, or GED exams.

Why?

1) If the purpose of compulsory education laws is to produce literate and numerate citizens then scoring above a certain level on the SAT, ACT, or GED is proof of that.

2) Fewer students in school will reduce the number of teachers needed. This means fewer salaries, pensions, and benefits that must be paid by the taxpayers. It may even mean closing down and selling some schools and property.

3) It reduces the amount of time the student spends being influenced and indoctrinated by Marxist trained teachers.

4) The young person can start post-high school training and/or college and begin his career years sooner. Increasing the years working can literally mean hundreds of thousands or even millions of dollars more earned over a lifetime. The state certainly will benefit from the tax dollars collected and the young person can benefit from a better standard of living and a more secure retirement.

4)) There are advantages to having an official high school diploma when applying for college loans and scholarships, or when applying to enlist in the military.

5) The more time a person spends working in the real world of a free economy the more likely his is to understand and appreciate conservative principles.

Well, if you're going to make the parents pay, that will take care of one element of it. That's fine with me.

It still doesn't address the problem of having a bunch of 13-14 year olds in college classes. I really don't suggest you try it.

We were satisfied if our home schooled and very privately schooled kids did a very competent job of learning Latin, Basic Math, Algebra I and II, Geometry, Trigonometry, The Calculus (generally Saxon Math), American History (from the patriotic point of view of Harvard Professor Samuel Eliot Morrison), Ancient and World History (from the point of view of former Dean of Yale College Donald Kagan), General Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, English Grammar and Syntax, English Literature, American Literature, Traditional Catholic Theology, some Philosophy, Modern Language (Spanish, french or German) and Literature and a few other things, and they generally did.

Things they missed out on learning by NOT attending government indoctrination centers K-12: Illicit drug use and the business principles and practices of drug dealing, prostitution, paradise 'neath the staircase, the "normality" of "alternative lifestyles," why Heather has two mommies or someone else's daddy has a (sort of male) roommate, why Jane Fonda is a far greater American than George S, Patton, Jr. ever was, why only "bitter clingers" and other hopelessly "non-cool people" believe in fantasy land in the sky (heaven) or God or God's Word, much less lucifer or hell, how to keep mom and dad in the dark by getting an abortion through P. S. 666's verrry confidential and resourceful social worker who will even drive you to the abortion mill. Your social life is YOUR business and P. S. 666 understands that mom and Dad can just butt out with the medieval Dark Ages "morality." That's the "authority outside the home" part. You belong to the state and not to your family (who always want to be the training wheels of your life, preventing you from flying as "free" as you want to be, however young and thoughtless).

Participation? Sharing? Working out differences? Being a mindless little socialist drone? Assuming that any of the first three are EVER useful, the kids will figure it out on their own when any of that suits what THEY perceive to be THEIR needs not when it fits into the rigid requirements socialist indoctrination curriculum which you seem to be designating as "this aspect of 'education.'"

As a taxpayer and parent, I say: Get off my back with this despicable excuse for "education" down at PS 666. To LEARN does not require confidential trips to the abortion mill, sexual issues re-education camps, marching bands, football, basketball and soccer teams or junior years abroad in Europe on which some Connecticut skewel bards like Greenwich squander taxpayers' money and have actually tried to litigate that this is a "constitutional right" of their community's children, if the skewel board idjits SAY it is. And that it is the "constitutional" "obligation" of their tax-paying neighbors to pay through property taxes or state subsidies (from a bankrupt state) to "share" in the cost of a junior year in Europe of sex, drugs, rock 'n roll, decadence, and sightseeing, that the parents of these juniors cannot, on their own, or will not pay for. Just use that old mule of gummint misedumakashun to impose yet another burden on the taxpayers.

You are worried that the indoctrinators are losing control of the classroom to the kidz? Sounds like ANARCHY!!! Off to the gulag with the ungrateful little wretches! Maybe the kidz are FINALLY rebelling against the mind-bogglingly stultifying excuse for edjumakashun that is the hallmark of P.S. 666. Good for the kidz!!!!

If you saw my previous post you would see I spoke of PROPER class rooms in schools which we do not have today. The comment you responded to of my started with “ALSO”. So the rest of your comment is just you making yourself feel good.

No. I don’t generalize at all. I use the normal curve which tells me that there is a great variation in the expression of the human genome. I would never generalize by age or by thinking all, many, most kids are like the ones I know.

What I can say from the kids I have known through my profession, my circles of work & activities is that kids are capable of much more than most people expect of them.

Well, you don’t have the sample size I do, so your observations are interesting, but not definitive. And certainly not enough to make me abandon all the conclusions I have come to after observing 2,000 13 year olds. I know enough about this stage of human development to say with some assurance that putting too many of them into a college setting with adults who have paid to be there will cause problems, and I stand by that prediction. You are not required to agree with me, by the way. This is all just people giving their opinions on an idea that is never going to be implemented anyway, so... have the last word, if you like. I have noticed that parents always think they have to have the last word when talking to teachers, so have at it.

I don’t think that Black Elk was making a personal attack. I think that BE was responding to the wishful nature of a proper classroom vs what we have at this point. All the things he wrote are true and many parents are anguished at subjecting their children to such a toxic brew. That makes for vehemence.

There are positive things that a child can learn from group learning & outside adults as authority figures but its a judgement call whether that will be true at any particular American school at present. There is no reason not to allow children & parents to pursue alternative routes of education and socialization.

Please feel free to have the last word. I am not speaking as a parent but as a scientist. Your opinions are your own and I would never seek to take them from you. When you see children as a cohort, a group of thousands it may be easy to generalize. Just like when looking at a forest one doesn’t see the leaves.

I believe in the freedom of the individual and that each child in America deserves to strive to fulfill their dreams. I would no more think that their age trumped their abilities and maturity than I would think that each would need the same shoe size.

I think that the colleges are not full of adults in any case.

AND under Obozo's anti-gun schemes to disarm the private sector, the Leviathan was buying tens (hundreds) of thousands of "assault weapons" and mountains of .45 caliber ammo for the "Education" Department, the IRS, the Social Security Administration (gotta be ready to gun down Grandma and Grandpa when they approach the SS bureaucrats, armed with dangerous canes or walkers!). Trump should abolish the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (and Explosives?) on January 21, 2017 by Executive Order, return its budget to the Treasury and immediately hold the biggest government fire sale of guns and ammo in history, again using all proceeds to reduce the deficit.

Then we can get to the fire sale of unnecessary federal land holdings. What am I bid for this utterly useless (to the federales) acreage that was scooped up as a "monument" by Slick Willie as he left office? Just one of a million examples.

I am OK with ending compulsory edu after a certain age. I got a GED in the Army in 1969.

It’s called firing and unwelcome-ness.......from the local Skook board member to the board in general, to the superintendent to principals....how to u think they took over in the first place?

Firings and letting them know they are not welcome, will shoo them on their way...or mend their ways. Much of this is just going-along, or fear for their jobs if they don’t toe the line.

Turn the tables on these bastards. We control the purse strings, let them eat cake.

Please re-read my post, I said post high school training, and/or college. In a later post I added safe work that would be appropriate for a young person. Did you note that college was not the **only** option.

Why are you sooooo concerned about the colleges? They are run by big boys and girls and are fully capable of deciding who will or will not attend their colleges without your overprotective concern.

According to Charles Murray, only about 15% of the population have an I Q high enough to have success in college. And...an even smaller proportion of the population are capable of college level hard sciences. He came to this conclusion using the statistics from the SAT organization. So.....I doubt that colleges would be overrun with misbehaving kids who **willingly** chose to attend and who were **willingly** accepted by the college.

Also....Is it possible that the behavior you observe in the classroom is **not** normal behavior for youth but is really a response to being incarcerated in a prison-like setting? Is it possible that youth are subjected to a prison-like environment that no normal adult would tolerate for themselves and would actually win them millions in court?

Is it possible that after being treated like a prisoner for the sole crime of being born, these kids are then told that this is “good for them”. This is the ultimate in **gaslighting**!!!

Geese! No wonder these young people ( who would have been considered adults just 100 years ago) are “cheeky”!

You are aware that a college classroom looks and operates pretty much like a high school classroom, right....?

Yes, I am currently a student at the community college. This semester I am taking 9 credits. No, the college classroom is not like high school. If a student were inappropriate in their behavior, disruptive, or abusive in their language, they would be asked to leave. If they refused, security would be called and they would be escorted from the room.

This has never happened. The students who are there want to be there. No one is threatening with truancy laws.

By the way, a charter school has dual college enrollment at the community college as part of its program. These students are delightful additions to the class, hard working, and well prepared for the course work.

I have a doctorate. When I retired I decided to become a serious and hard working artist. I enrolled in the local community college and enrolled in the graphic arts program with an emphasis in illustration.

I have been a part and full time student at the community college for three years. I have more than enough credits to graduate with an associate degree in liberal arts but I have only finished a little more than half of the illustration program. Approximately 20 students began Illustration 1. As we are finishing Illustration 2 only 3 students remain. Illustration has prerequisites.

I don't know how many dropped out of the program due to their inability to manage the beginning prerequisite courses. The main problem that I observed was due to innumeracy. Many of the students could not read a ruler. They literally could not find 3/16th or 3.75 of an inch on a ruler. Metrics? Forget it. The students were amazed that I could add, subtract, multiply, and divide fractions in my head faster than they could pull out their phones. Ratio and proportion, which is **essential** in any graphics arts program, was a mystery.

There are two reasons that I could determine for the high drop out rate.

1) Insufficient I Q needed to master the technology, software programs, and photography required.

2) Innumeracy.

b4me:

Actually, my entire post is about the hopelessness of what used to be normal Christian or even normally moral parents sending their precious children into the maw of the National Education Association or American Federation of Teachers unions' edumakashunal wasteland designed NOT to educate students in any meaningful way but rather to make for an ever increasingly expensive faculty with unnecessary fat salaried adminstrators galore and very few of them even CAPABLE of educating their pets to "roll over" or "sit" much less incarcerated teenagers to understand what used to be simple studies in algebra or geometry or classical languages and literature or modern languages and literature or even English and its literature, Chemistry or Physics? (fuggedaboudit!)

The BIG problem in gummint edumakashun is how to keep the utterly bored inmates in the prison from escaping to qualified private schools or, worst of all!, homeschooling with its infinite flexibility. And there are THREE answers from the gummint edumakashun apologists and propagandists.

First is the argument from teen angst. You don't want to be DIFFERENT, do you? If you are homeschooled, you may NEVER get laid or at least until you are married to someone of the opposite sex and your parents are expecting grandchildren (YUCK!). Where's the FUN in that?

Second is SPECTACLE. Hey kids! See our FOOTBALL (basketball, etc.) TEAM and our irreverent MARCHING BAND and ask the school office for a full list of our diversions to make your gummint skewel almost minimally tolerable.

Third is encouraging RESENTMENT as a way of life. If many teens feel that what they imagine to be their superior talent and knowledge are not REALLY appreciated as they should be because no one (and certainly not Donald Trump) are calling them to make major policy decisions (unilateral disarmament, institutionalization of infinitely more Marxism, the final suppression of that uppity and pesky Caucasian race, and the final suppression of all those nosy, intrusive Judaeo-Christian "religions" trying to spoil our fun, etc.), then it is the "system" that is defective. About 90% of our "teachers have driven that inspiration home to us as the glorious future of our nation that WE will lead and they are SUCH ACCOMPLISHED PEOPLE that they MUST be right." Our parents will NEVER understand.

These gummint teachers are the modern "comprachecos" (look it up!) who take it as their opportunity to warp the children rather than educate them.

I saw your post but saw little in it to take seriously. "PROPER classrooms" have NOTHING to do with it. St. Ignatius Loyola went into the religious life and teaching high school age students (magnificently) after, as a military man, he suffered the destruction of a knee by a cannonball in a siege. He taught his students OUTDOORS on a hillside in Toledo and until about five decades ago, provided the very finest education available before the Jesuit Order went consciously and voluntarily Marxist (see Frankie the Apostate, and Superiors General like Jean Baptiste Jansens, Pedro Arrupe, Hans Pieter Kolvenbach, and others.

I always "feel good" about the fact that I had a very fine Jesuit prep school education before the Catholicism and natural conservatism of the Jesuits collapsed under the relentless evil of Pedro Arrupe, SJ, who was removed by Pope Saint John Paul II but too late for the Jebbies who are simply no longer "God's Marines." An awful lot (not all) of gummint "teachers" are lucifer's marines.

All you are doing is regurgitating typical gummint "teachers'" unions' propaganda. Sorry! No sale. John Dewey is smiling in hell!

You are forgetting that many parents use the public schools as subsidized babysitting to have a place to warehouse the kiddies while they are at work. Graduating the kids early would not be of interest.
