We were satisfied if our home schooled and very privately schooled kids did a very competent job of learning Latin, Basic Math, Algebra I and II, Geometry, Trigonometry, The Calculus (generally Saxon Math), American History (from the patriotic point of view of Harvard Professor Samuel Eliot Morrison), Ancient and World History (from the point of view of former Dean of Yale College Donald Kagan), General Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, English Grammar and Syntax, English Literature, American Literature, Traditional Catholic Theology, some Philosophy, Modern Language (Spanish, french or German) and Literature and a few other things, and they generally did.

Things they missed out on learning by NOT attending government indoctrination centers K-12: Illicit drug use and the business principles and practices of drug dealing, prostitution, paradise 'neath the staircase, the "normality" of "alternative lifestyles," why Heather has two mommies or someone else's daddy has a (sort of male) roommate, why Jane Fonda is a far greater American than George S, Patton, Jr. ever was, why only "bitter clingers" and other hopelessly "non-cool people" believe in fantasy land in the sky (heaven) or God or God's Word, much less lucifer or hell, how to keep mom and dad in the dark by getting an abortion through P. S. 666's verrry confidential and resourceful social worker who will even drive you to the abortion mill. Your social life is YOUR business and P. S. 666 understands that mom and Dad can just butt out with the medieval Dark Ages "morality." That's the "authority outside the home" part. You belong to the state and not to your family (who always want to be the training wheels of your life, preventing you from flying as "free" as you want to be, however young and thoughtless).

Participation? Sharing? Working out differences? Being a mindless little socialist drone? Assuming that any of the first three are EVER useful, the kids will figure it out on their own when any of that suits what THEY perceive to be THEIR needs not when it fits into the rigid requirements socialist indoctrination curriculum which you seem to be designating as "this aspect of 'education.'"

As a taxpayer and parent, I say: Get off my back with this despicable excuse for "education" down at PS 666. To LEARN does not require confidential trips to the abortion mill, sexual issues re-education camps, marching bands, football, basketball and soccer teams or junior years abroad in Europe on which some Connecticut skewel bards like Greenwich squander taxpayers' money and have actually tried to litigate that this is a "constitutional right" of their community's children, if the skewel board idjits SAY it is. And that it is the "constitutional" "obligation" of their tax-paying neighbors to pay through property taxes or state subsidies (from a bankrupt state) to "share" in the cost of a junior year in Europe of sex, drugs, rock 'n roll, decadence, and sightseeing, that the parents of these juniors cannot, on their own, or will not pay for. Just use that old mule of gummint misedumakashun to impose yet another burden on the taxpayers.

You are worried that the indoctrinators are losing control of the classroom to the kidz? Sounds like ANARCHY!!! Off to the gulag with the ungrateful little wretches! Maybe the kidz are FINALLY rebelling against the mind-bogglingly stultifying excuse for edjumakashun that is the hallmark of P.S. 666. Good for the kidz!!!!

If you saw my previous post you would see I spoke of PROPER class rooms in schools which we do not have today. The comment you responded to of my started with “ALSO”. So the rest of your comment is just you making yourself feel good.
