Really?
Santa doesn’t make an appearance until the very end so no big rush and no need for a delay. As if she couldn’t find one on any number of street corners. Doesn’t Macy’s have a dozen hired for the store? Or dress herself or her male assistant in a suit. A last minute Santa is nothing.

"Hey, Miranda Lambert sang good - a little too good, as a matter of fact."
She was entertaining, IMO.
It was funny, when she finished, both my spouse and I wondered out loud, "what was Blake Shelton thinking, leaving her for Gwen Stefani?"

I can confirm that. Saw the parade live once in NYC. Once was enough.

I have never understood the fascination with parades, either. As a child, you could see all your favorite cartoon characters in person.
Even through it was clear that they had been killed, skinned, inflated, and tethered to wires.

I saw the Rose Parade live. 4AM departure to sit on cold metal bleachers just far enough past the grand marshal to get to spend a lot of time looking at nothing. Part of the problem is we seem to only have parades when the weather sucks.

Exactly right! The parade is the background sound for preparing Thanksgiving dinner. It has been so in my family for decades. No one watches except if your state has a band, and a couple of minutes to see Santa.
To me, it’s like the sound of a baseball game on thw radio during a cookout...just there..summer music..

It’s a horrific, bizarre blend of toddler and ghetto culture. A good reason why the world hates us.
