CBS Macy's Day Parade Sucks

Girlfriend wanted to watch the Macy's Day Parade.

So far it hasn't disappointed. Another classic CBS production.

Almost 30 minutes and no parade yet. Some BS from the hosts, a crappy song from Sting, a tribute to the Estabans, and a play that had a song about Sticking it To the Man.

I love the holidays.

You never watch the Thanksgiving day parade on CBS. The contract is with NBC. They have the better coverage. That’s been the case for at least 50 years

Most parade coverage has devolved into two hour long commercials of the latest insipid shows and perverted pop culture crap.

Oh, and in between you see some floats and hear some marching bands.

I heard that it is delayed this year because the woman from Macy’s who is in charge of the parade found out that the Santa was drunk, and she had to scramble to find a new one.

Never been much of one for watching parades - except while in the military where I participated in a good number.

NBC has good coverage.

CBS....awful. A few outside shots, but mostly singers like Sting doing pre-recorded numbers from indoor sound stages.

FWIW Kinky Boots is a very good movie about a man who is trying not to loose his fathers shoe company after the father died unexpectedly.

Sure it has a man in it who dresses up as a woman and sings - but it’s much larger than that. He’s trying not to fire all of his employees.

I would think the play would be just bloody awful.
