..She has for one, shown serious dedication to that most fashion of affectations: the shoulder robe (the art of balancing your coat on your shoulders, which offers a more nuanced, high level approach to putting on an outerwear garment rather than the pedestrian act of simply putting your arms through the sleeves). Her efforts here are accomplished. On stage in Iowa, after introducing her husband as the best master negotiator she stepped back from the lectern, flicked that perfect blow-dry delicately over her shoulder, and all without her bright red coat budging an inch. Thats not just rigid tailoring and a sturdy shoulder-pad; thats professional....

But then, it seems that almost NOBODY knows what to wear when, now, and designers ( cough, cough, cough ) only make very ugly clothes now; even/especially the most pricey ones.
Perhaps the pendulum will swing back, some, now, with the Trumps in the White House.
It’s even worse than I thought :)
As Rose,
As in “Niagara Falls?”
Tiffany is wearing an interesting sort of sleeveless coat.
I do not recognize those Jockey Silks. What stable does it represent?
A two-fer. Boob belt and hideous sweater!
I looked up the “designer” who is refusing to dress Melania; she designs for Lane Bryant, it appears. That would explain why she designs/dresses Michelle’s size 16 figure. Not that there is anything wrong with fluffy women (I’m fluffy myself). It’s just that Melania doesn’t need, nor would she look “first-ladyish” in Lane Bryant styles.
You’re right. I used to really enjoy the fashion magazines, but there hasn’t seemed to be any central concept to the styles that have come out in the past few decades. And nothing really beautiful that makes you want to go out and buy it, or a knockoff of it.
I’ve been looking for a plain, black dress coat. Can’t find much at all that is classic, age-appropriate, and not really ‘trendy’ or plainly ugly.
If you sew, you notice that even some of the more expensive items are poorly made and of low-grade material, compared with the past.

This morning,
OH Marilyn,,,
bahahahahahahah....
She liked that godawful thing so much she had it in two versions. Both hideous. She is too fat to wear it. I don’t even know if that would look good on Melania
oh wow I just had a Dr. Zhivago flashback....

oh, the wide stance pic? problem was, so many got photoshopped when the original was bad enough. at times I have felt bad for her, she needed etiquette class (how to sit/stand etc). other than that, no pity for her and her horrid attitude.
Melania, Prince William's wife, and many others ( all of the Trump girls, except for Tiffany ) wear that long, bedraggled "style" at a much too damned old age for it!
Along with clothes, it's the abject lack of "age appropriate" clothing that drives me nuts. Trendy is one thing, but just WHO wants to see a woman of a certain age ( that's over 35, for those who are unfamiliar with the term ), wearing something cut up to the crotch, down to the waits, see through, barely there, and/or skin tight?
It's like nude beaches.....everyone who should NOT expose themselves do.
still can’t find my pic but here is another with her wide legs

He looks like my Grandfather. He was a symphony musician and always wore a long white silk scarf with his winter coat.
I am around the same age as Michelle Obama, and I only wear shorts around the house, gardening, and exercising when it is very warm. And the ones I wear are considerably longer.
I can’t imagine getting on and off a plane in them.
