As most of you probably know, Democratic Underground was vandalized by a hacker on election day, forcing us to take the site offline. We have spent the last week performing a security review of our software.
At this time the DU discussion forums are back online for Star Members only. We are taking this precaution because we want to make sure that we are only receiving legitimate traffic while we continue to test our software and the new security measures that have been put in place. This limited opening period should only last two or three days before we open up the site to everybody.
How to change your password and log in
We do not believe that member passwords were compromised during the hack, but out of an abundance of caution we are asking all of our members to change their passwords before logging in. To verify that you are the person responsible for your account, you will need to provide the username and email address associated with your DU account. After you have entered your username and email address, you will be emailed a temporary password along with instructions to log in to the site. After logging in, you will be prompted to select a new password of your choice.

Making the echo chamber smaller.
This reinforces my belief that there never was a hacker and that the site took itself down for whatever reason(s)
So the whole thing was juts a ploy to make more money for themselves. How very capitalist of them.
I think their tears shorted out their servers.
If anyone has a Disposable DU Star account, they should post it and coordinate multiple logins at the same time. See how long it takes to get DU to set the place on fire again. LOL.

They were not hacked, but no way they could allow all their members to be seen making Trump death threats in mass and cussing at Podesta, Hillary or Bill. Plus with their TacoBell engagements going so wrong, the evposure of the DNC/Obama violent activists with access and money from the White House....

Hillary financed the site through Skinner’s wife.
They pretended to have a hacker because the Bernie Sanders brigade was lambasting the Hillary diehards as her hopes faded. They will need new funding, so I expect the pay wall will stay.
