I have given up on The Walking Dead.
I don’t know who coined it, but the show truly is just torture porn now.
When I caught up on some episodes in season 4 and 5 that I had missed, I had to continually mute that stupid eenie meenie promo.
And, the tiger and call me King? Goodbye.
Was great for 5 seasons.

I’ve been with TWD since the night it premiered. Last week they went a little, okay A LOT, over the top but I still love the show and will continue following it.
Last week was ROUGH! but if I was a comic fan, I think anything less would have been disappointing. The writers PROMISE this week will be much lighter and will hopefully draw us back in with hope.

I think the gore porn will be limited the that first episode for the season. They just wanted to set up what an evil, violent guy Neagan is, to build suspense for the season going forward. Much like season opening gore of the “Battle for Terminus” episode.

I have been watching Aftermath on SyFy. The family in it are about as unlikable as the family in FWD. Last episode, the sister of one of the main characters got whacked and I cheered, ‘Yeah! One down and 5 more to go.’
It is pretty much scripted like TWD — they run into good people and evil people as they are traveling to get away from the evil that suddenly overtook the planet.
I am not sure which is worse — these kinds of morbid programs or all of the superhero programs. At least the realityTV programming has gone way down in recent years.
These characters are about the dumbest on television, second only to the idiots in the West Coast version. I’m really rooting for those idiots to all die. I couldn’t even finish watching FTWD.
I’ll give TWD a couple more episodes and if they don’t smarten up - GetTF away from where they are and hunker down - I’m crossing it off my list.

With that being said, while this jerk Negan (who I will kill if I see him walking the aisles of my local Meijers) appears to be a psychopathic killer, we can't ever forget the GOVERNOR..........

I haven’t watched it since Fall 2014. I liked the show, but it became more ridiculous as time went on. Gave it up and I really don’t miss it much.
In past seasons we have already seen the brooding,
morose, and detached Rick Grimes. I will likely not
stick around if that character returns. On the
other hand if he cooperates the minimum amount
with Negan while plotting Negan’s demise then my
interest may survive. Let’s see the plotting,
sneaky, vengeful Rick for a while. He doesn’t need
to broadcast those intentions to all but he should
pick a few trusted cohorts and secretly plan.
Maybe he could come up with a way to free Darrell
and then get everyone the hell away from there.
Of course there is the King and his group
story to develop. I don’t discount any of that.
