I have given up on The Walking Dead.
I don’t know who coined it, but the show truly is just torture porn now.
When I caught up on some episodes in season 4 and 5 that I had missed, I had to continually mute that stupid eenie meenie promo.
And, the tiger and call me King? Goodbye.
Was great for 5 seasons.
Helmets, Glenn and Abraham should have wore helmets.

After the season opening....I just don’t need this type of show anymore.
Too many doom porn type programs and movies these days.
I’ve been with TWD since the night it premiered. Last week they went a little, okay A LOT, over the top but I still love the show and will continue following it.
Last week was ROUGH! but if I was a comic fan, I think anything less would have been disappointing. The writers PROMISE this week will be much lighter and will hopefully draw us back in with hope.

I think the gore porn will be limited the that first episode for the season. They just wanted to set up what an evil, violent guy Neagan is, to build suspense for the season going forward. Much like season opening gore of the “Battle for Terminus” episode.

Exactly, I thought the "Terminus" opener was much more brutal than last Sunday's opener.
Last week was nearly unwatchable, just so horrible. I literally fast forwarded through the “arm chop off” scene til I saw what happened.
I have been watching Aftermath on SyFy. The family in it are about as unlikable as the family in FWD. Last episode, the sister of one of the main characters got whacked and I cheered, ‘Yeah! One down and 5 more to go.’
It is pretty much scripted like TWD — they run into good people and evil people as they are traveling to get away from the evil that suddenly overtook the planet.
I am not sure which is worse — these kinds of morbid programs or all of the superhero programs. At least the realityTV programming has gone way down in recent years.
