Vanity. Does 'early voting' preclude Obama from being able to cancel election day?
10-29-16

Posted on 10/29/2016 11:15:56 AM PDT by InvisibleChurch

There was a thread earlier discussing what would happen if hrc was arrested before nov 8 and what that would do to the ticket and if obama could stall the elections while the dnc sought another candidate. Does early voting lock hrc in as the candidate regardless if she is arrested, or dies, or disappears?

He’s not cancelling diddly. Otherwise hundreds ofthousands of patriots will surround the White House in January chanting “Get out of Trump’s house!”

Or we can rely on the plain words of the Constitution.

Doesn't mean he won't try.

Why on earth would he try?

What is possibly in for Obama to cancel the elections? Jesus, people. This crap is so silly.

Here's what Barack Obama is going to do. He will leave the White House peacefully on January 20th. He won't pilfer the china or silverware. He's actually above that. In the next couple of years, he'll get his wife elected Senator in a safe blue state, create a slush fund disguised as a charitable organization to sell political influence, and become wealthy beyond his wildest dreams. A dozen or so years down the road, Michelle will campaign as the United States' first African-American female president.

He's learned from the best.

it’s not a hard question. A president has no authority over any part of the state or federal electoral process. None. Heck, DHS has several times complained that the Executive Branch gets no say in elections.

Should some disaster happen, the most a president could do is ask state officials to postpone elections locally.

A president’s term ends regardless. If it ended before an election could be held, the Speaker of the House would act as president.

Obama isn’t going to cancel Election Day. That is silly on its face. Don’t worry about that.

If she were to win the election, it may be Tim Kaine taking office in January.

That's what you should warn your lib family and friends about.

What are you smoking? Is it wrapped in what’s left of your copy of the constitution?

No, it's rolled into what's left of our Constitution that RINO's and liberals ignore on a regular basis. I also said I don't think it is going to happen.

I'm glad you are such a soothsayer who can predict what will happen, or were you just relying on our politicians obeying the Constitution?

If you are a soothsayer, then quick, what are the winning Power Ball numbers for the next drawing. While you're at it, give me the Mega Millions numbers as well.

Then I can provide Mr. Robinson with enough money to keep this site running for decades without having to hold fundraisers every quarter to cover operating expenses.

There is a major difference between senate races and Presidential. In the senate race you are actually voting for the person. In presidential you vote for a slate of electors. So by law there doesn’t even need to be a person listed on the ballot.

You think you placed an arrow in my arse? LOL. Nothing could be further from the truth. I just responded as callously as you did. Also, no need for you to tell me to carry on, for I do that anyway.

“...with Congress’s approval they may be able to temporarily postpone it.”

Not without an amendment to the Constitution, they can’t.

It would spark Revolution II if they even tried it.

“We need an experienced Constitutional lawyer to address this question.”

No, you only need to have a fifth grade reading level, and the willingness to look it up in the Constitution.

“...the date has been set by Federal law since 1845.”

The date of the presidential election was set by the Constitution in 1781.

Is the election the ‘kill switch’ of the Constitution? Is that what people will rise up about? Not a jab, just a question.
