Moments after the Oregon standoff defendants' acquittals were announced in court Thursday, Ammon Bundy's lawyer stood before the judge, and argued that his client should be released...
U.S. District Judge Anna J. Brown told him that there was a U.S. Marshal's hold on him from a pending federal indictment in Nevada.
"No, he's released on these charges. He's acquitted. Nevada doesn't have jurisdiction," Mumford yelled, standing before the judge. "If there's a detainer, show me.".......
Suddenly a group of about six to seven U.S. Marshals, who had been either standing or seated around the perimeter of the courtroom, slowly moved in and surrounded Mumford at his defense table. The judge directed them to move back but moments later, the marshals grabbed onto him.
"What are you doing?" Mumford yelled, as he struggled and was taken down to the floor.
As deputy marshals yelled, "Stop resisting," the judge demanded, "Everybody out of the courtroom now!"....
He was cited for failure to comply with a federal lawful order and disturbance and released with a Jan. 6 date to return to federal court....
But observers who were close to the arrest decried the use of force against a lawyer in court.
"What happened at the end is symbolic of the improper use of force by the federal government," Mumford's co-counsel J. Morgan Philpot said......
Defense lawyer Per C. Olson, who represented co-defendant David Fry, called the physical confrontation "a complete overreaction. Utterly disgusting."
Olson said Mumford was getting animated, but he did nothing physical. He didn't charge the bench, or block marshals from his client. "He raised his arm as if to say, what the hell....And they grabbed him, Tased him and took him down. It was just shocking. It was completely inappropriate," Olson said......

A taste of Venezuela or Zimbabwe in an American courtroom.
The fight for freedom for farmers and ranchers in the West is a meaningful cause that should not be dismissed as militant, extreme or associated with the race of those oppressed.
Jim Crow was bad and the federal policies in the West are bad, too.
“It was just shocking.”
No kidding! It was a taser.
This was bad but the real story here is jury nullification, something we can expect to see more of as the government grows ever more tyrannical.
He was very fortunate that they did not kill him. And they may yet. Was I him, I would begin getting my affairs in order the moment I stepped inside my front door.
And it left the Feds irate. And they will take out their frustrations out on the first poor soul that gives them the opportunity. Bundy’s ribs are probably sore now, because you can bet that they beat the hell out of him when they got him back to jail. As per the people’s demand on November 4, 2008, we are now a full fledged Banana Republic.
Taser voltage typically peaks at around 50,000 volts, so I’d call that very shocking. If they really want to be shocked though, they should see what is going to happen if federal government overreach and attempted tyranny continues.
I agree with you and I hope it is something President Trump will look at, because if ANYONE understands property rights and the importance of ranchers and farmers keeping their land vs the useless and destructive arm of big government stealing it just because they WANT it, it is someone like him who has lived his entire life in the world of real estate and not only loves America, but understands Americans.
Any fracking “triggered” excuse for these thugs to apply their violence “protocol”.
Now we know where the liberal brownshirts got that term, triggered, ie from federal feral
SOP.
Yes.
A taste of the brutal oppression to come.
Every liberal is a violent totalitarian thug.
I'll bet!
Trump needs to focus on this judge and this case when POTUS.
How much was this judge’s bonus on this case?
That, sir, is an insult to Banana Republics. At least Banana Republics produce bananas.
Jury nullification was a big story when OJ Simpson "allegedly" murdered his ex-wife and another man but was acquitted because of his skin color. The anti-American left loved jury nullification back then. Let's see how they like it when nullification goes mainstream among decent Americans.
Bull Connor lives on with the federal government thugs attacking the defense lawyer when they lose the case.

Really? I’d like to see a video of what really happened. I read up on the trial in Wiki and it appears that the judge did whatever she could to accommodate the defense’s requests.
FEMA camp first inmates???
Kneel! Kneel before the government employee gods!
Release the courtroom video.
The dark side is getting stronger and stronger and are starting to no longer feel the need to hide their shame.
There was NO jury nullification in the Simpson case; the prosecutors did a terrible job and the defense was superb. I watched the trial and I would not have convicted him either.
