Washington (CNN)Hillary Clinton is narrowing in on Donald Trump's lead in Texas, according to a new poll released on Tuesday.
Trump leads Clinton 41% to 38%, according to the latest University of Houston survey. Libertarian presidential nominee Gary Johnson stands in third place with 4% support, followed by Green Party nominee Jill Stein at 1%, with 11% undecided. GOP presidential candidates have won Texas by no less than 11 percentage points since 2000, according to a memo accompanying the poll results. Democrats last won Texas in a presidential race in 1976.
The poll also showed that, despite Trump's narrow lead, 53% of Texas voters thought Clinton would be elected as the next US president compared to 23% of voters who said they thought it would be Trump.
The Hobby School of Public Affairs surveyed 1,000 likely Texas voters between October 7-15 and has a margin of error of plus or minus 3 percentage points. In another poll published Tuesday, St. Norbert College found Clinton ahead of Trump in Wisconsin, 47% to 39%, followed by Stein at 3% and Johnson at 1%.
The St. Norbert College poll surveyed 664 likely voters in Wisconsin between October 13-16 and has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.8 percentage points.

Any place that has such a hair-trigger loathing for Obama isn't going to be in Hillary's EV column.
Beside working overnight, i’m home a lot because of old injury.
I JUST read FR! NO TV news, no sitcoms. No dramas.
I watch B Horror movies on Amazon Prime.
It takes my mind off things :)
Fox was driving me nuts and i stopped watching it like a year and half ago. Too much arguing.
I don’t believe it. But I’m in rural area Texas. The only problems that I could see is liberals and illegal immigrants in the cities.
Texas is also a motor voter state.
************
So are 43 other states.....
Meet you there.
BS. Even the back men I know are voting for Trump. That is a first for many of them.
I’ve seen Hillary ads for months, just one seeing a Trump ad. Some good NRA ads running.
That is a problem, indeed.

“The sample was weighted to reflect the racial and ethnic composition of the electorate based on the 2008 and 2012 presidential elections.”
Notes: Has Hillary up by 2-1 over Trump with Indpendents; has Johnson tied with Trump among independents and Jonson tied with Clinton among Republicans....
It has 8% of Republicans saying they don’t know who they’ll vote for.

“Men favor Trump (44 percent) over Clinton (35 percent).
Women favor Clinton (42 percent) and Clinton (38 percent). “
Yes, they said favor Clinton *AND* Clinton. Dumbasses.
Seriously? I know Southern Baptist women and devout traditional Catholic women in their 60s who laughed at the whopp-te-do over pu**ygate and are still voting for Trump. My Evangelical friends are not budging, either. The men do not care at all. These are folks who go to church 2x a week, live very conservative lives, have raised decent families and range from average to very successful financially and from HS to professional in education.
I’m in WI. Is there a more delicate variety of conservative in TX?
When I lived in CA we would pick up registered republicans that were unable to get to vote. Last election here I witnessed a unload of people from MHMR being assisted to vote by the few democrats here.
I have yet to see one Hillary! bumper sticker or yard sign in the entire state. I drove through all of Arkansas a couple weeks ago. The only signs I saw where the ones talking about Slick Willie’s birthplace in Hope and the airport was named after him. Other than that, bumpkiss.
Last election I spoke to many conservative voters that didn’t want to vote for Romney. They said that the polls showed that Romney would win Texas anyway without their vote so it didn’t matter.
A lot of guys died for their right to vote.
I wont lie. Being from NY/USSR, I’ve not voted a few times figuring what was the point? For the OPPOSITE reason. Republican had no chance.
I was an idiot. It’s a privilege to vote and ESPECIALLY for Trump!
You are right, thank you!
Pure BS. Absolutely no way Hillary will win Texas.
Just ask Abortion Barbie. She only lost to Greg Abbott by 20+%.
Gun friendly Texas voting for Hillary. Totally bogus..
I know many GOP Texans and ZERO are voting for Hillary. And I know lots of old hardcore Dems, that are voting for Trump too.
Yes, the ComDems are doing their best to apply voter fraud. Governor Abbott has noted it and it will not be allowed.
Why do you think they did away with voter photo ID?
