It's the Kaepernick Effect, stupid.
The alarming fall in NFL TV ratings this season is partly because of fan anger over on-field protests by Colin Kaepernick and other players of the American flag/national anthem, according to pollster Rasmussen Reports.

Hence they are throwing America under the bus. Just as Hollywood did in the 20s and 30s.
My husband boycotted immediately and this is significant as he played football for a state college in the early 80’s and has been a life long dedicated fan.
Let them all drown in their own liberal blood. This is the fruit of a dumbed down liberal education system.
Fans to NFL: “Shut up and play.”
There is nothing more repulsive than a man wearing the team jersey, complete with name, of a radical SJW.
Get a life, dude.

And Nevada politicians and RINO Gov. want taxpayer funding for a proposed NFL stadium.
Legislature to weigh funding for NFL stadium starting Monday

Nevada lawmakers will meet next week to consider raising a hotel tax for an NFL stadium, convention center expansion and more police officers in the Las Vegas area.
Gov. Brian Sandoval announced Wednesday that a special legislative session is scheduled for 8 a.m. Monday. Lawmakers typically only meet once every two years and aren’t scheduled to reconvene until February. But stadium backers have urged quick action so the NFL owners can decide, perhaps in January, whether they’ll let the Raiders move from Oakland to Las Vegas.
“Now is the time to capitalize on the opportunity before us to invest in Nevada’s most foundational industry, tourism,” Sandoval said in a statement. “We can and must usher in a new era for tourism in the Las Vegas market.”
The proposed 65,000-seat domed stadium would be funded with $750 million in hotel room taxes, along with $650 million from the family of Las Vegas Sands casino mogul Sheldon Adelson and $500 million from the Raiders and the NFL. Critics, including faith-based groups and the powerful Culinary Union that’s made up of hospitality workers, question whether the stadium will bring the promised economic benefits and don’t like that public funds could support a project backed by one of the world’s richest men.

Haven’t watched a game all season. There is life after the NFL after all. The college game is much better and more competitive.
This is just another reason to stop watching football. In Chicago its easy. The Bears give you plenty of reasons alone. But the knee is another one. And players getting millions to suck and belittle the country is hard to support.
But for me. I can’t stand that they keep changing the game so that people don’t get hit. Football is about hard hits. When you penalize big hits, I get bored.
“The college game is much better...”
You obviously haven’t watched a UConn game this year! :-)

LOL! WKU fan! Beat La Tech!!
Hollywood studios made a deliberate effort to avoid patriotic subject matter in the early days. This was in an effort to cultivate/maintain their standing in foreign markets (particularly in the silent era where the language barrier was far less of an issue). Too much Apple Pie and Patriotism would, it was thought, alienate these foreign audiences.
Only with the outbreak of WW II were Hollywood studios compelled to start embracing patriotism.
Hollywood has clearly reverted today, stripping every vestige of American patriotism from Wonder Woman, for example.
Jerry Jones went into the locker room before the Cowboys Giants game yesterday. He looked around at all the young men and addressed them as a group. Regardless of your personal opinions, this is a sacred day that we recognize the sacrifice and pain that so many have endured. When the National Anthem is played by a lone trumpet player in a few minutes you WILL stand and you WILL put your hand over your hearts. Jerry waited a second and made eye contact with several players to make sure his words had sunk in. He knew he had there undivided attention and proceeded. You gentlemen are world class athletes, but you are also actors. You perform on a stage that is 100 yards long. Today, you play the role of a patriotic super hero. You will play this role well because you know that millions of children will be watching and looking at your example. Then his inner fire started to shine through as he said quietly but most of all I want you to remember, you are the actors, but this is MY stage and you will play the role I tell you to.
I’m with you. Cannot tolerate ESPN any longer. I rarely turn it on.
I think you and I make the most salient point in this whole controversy. Namely, whether it’s a 10% boycott or a 30% boycott tens of thousands of the boycotters will NEVER return. I boycotted in 1987 when jj fired Landry and have NEVER watched a full game since.
I guess it depends on the TV contract. Are they paid by ratings, or is the contract for a flat fee regardless of ratings?
I only watched the Cowboys vs 49’ers game last week because I’m a Cowboy fan and because I wanted to see them kick the crap out of the 49’ers because they deserve it letting that a$$hat get away with taking a knee to the national anthem. I hope he feels good knowing he’s cursed his whole team’s season fighting for a fake cause.
