The Cleveland Browns got screwed by a fumble call, when the ball was already in the possession of Duke Johnson and he stood up, while players fought for something else in a pile. To most rational people who can watch something with their own eyes, thats what happened.
However, rather than just acknowledge the mistake and move on (something that has happened many times in the past), the NFL is bizarrely digging its heels in on this one.

But then she’s not bad looking. If she were just another double-wide her shortcomings would be disqualifying.

Hmm, she’s allegedly married to a guy, so it could just be ultra-PC, but the NFL is all about politics all the time these days, so who knows?

Browns got screwed by the officials at a home game a few years back.
Browns fans responded by throwing bottles and other debris on the field.

Yeah but, she's a GIRL! And thus held to a completely unfair standard! So we need to lower the standards, and hold her to a completely DIFFERENT set of unfair standards. So that the entire process remains fair.
Makes sense, right? (/s)

The city of San Francisco promoted a woman to chief after only 14 years on the job. Is she the one whose hat kept slipping off because her head was too small?

Here's the video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bcXncK_zy4g. What's interesting is that the player with the ball doesn't make much of a protest at all. You'd think he would be up in arms with the ref saying, "Yo! I've got the ball!" Didn't happen... Curious...

If she made a bad call, NFL should admit it.
What does the sex of the referee have to do with whether the call was good or not?? This doesnt make any sense.
Actually, in a way it does. It pretty clear what happened. The line judge came in, looking for the ball, and didn't see that Johnson had left the pile with it. She simply noticed that the Browns player, who appeared to be fighting for the ball, did not have it. So, she ASSUMED that the Washington player must have the ball. So, she called it.
She screwed up by calling it, without actually seeing the ball - she couldn't have, because it wasn't there. She should have done what other line judges would do, get in, and grab a player, and start separating them, to find the ball.
Did she make the call, without seeing the ball, because 1) honest mistake, she thought she saw it, 2) she did not feel comfortable getting physical in the pile?, or 3) was it female instinct to break up a 'fight' as quickly as possible?
Whatever it was, it WAS a mistake.
