The Cleveland Browns got screwed by a fumble call, when the ball was already in the possession of Duke Johnson and he stood up, while players fought for something else in a pile. To most rational people who can watch something with their own eyes, thats what happened.
However, rather than just acknowledge the mistake and move on (something that has happened many times in the past), the NFL is bizarrely digging its heels in on this one.

I didn’t see the play. But, don’t the officials and the NFL, and other sports for that matter, want to get the calls right? Don’t they want to get them right regardless of who is involved?
I rmemmber a couple years ago, Dallas Cowboys fans were up in arms about bad calls costing the Cowboys a playoff game.
For NFL: Feminism > Good referring
Women should never be referees in football because they can’t play football but if we coddle anti Americanism and racism ( “only black lives matter”)- then we accept the fantasy that a woman has any place ever on a foot ball field— get her out of there!! It is all PC madness.
In trying to protect a female referee, they’re only making it worse. She made a bad call. Bad calls happen. Admit it. To pretend otherwise will make this a bigger issue than it is.
We will have you believe that women are as good as men in any area you can imagine - no matter what your lying eyes tell you to the contrary.....
If she made a bad call, NFL should admit it.
What does the sex of the referee have to do with whether the call was good or not?? This doesn’t make any sense.
You nailed it. Occasionally calls get blown, by both male and female officials. The fact that they are digging-in over one bad call by a woman sort of defeats their whole purpose in having her there in the first place.
Men and women are completely equal.
And, to prove it, if any of those little darlins make a boo-boo, the NFL will cover it up for ‘em.
Sorry I missed that. Oh, I have missed every down this year.
And there you have the problem with affirmative action. Even if a candidate is good, many will still think they only got the job because of AA, and won’t take them seriously.

A girl ref?
Why not an Eskimo ref? Or a wheel-chair bound ref? Or a blind ref?
Shouldn't EVERYONE be represented?
This is why men get paid more than women....
The NFL is defending an agenda to include female officials; the league’s objective is not defending the call. It just looks like the NFL is defending the call.
“What does the sex of the referee have to do with whether the call was good or not?? This doesnt make any sense.”
Likely, it’s the sexual orientation of the referee, not her gender, that spurs the NFL’s defense of her.
As another poster said, she’s never played pro football....
Kind of like our Secretary of Defense, who never served in the military...
Women can’t make a mistake unless its a man’s fault. The film has to be wrong.
The city of San Francisco promoted a woman to chief after only 14 years on the job. All others had twice that many. Is this ref the best the colleges had to offer? Probably not. That is not the issue anymore.
If Cleveland started playing better they’d get more respect.
