U2 singer Bono warned Tuesday that America is more than a country, its an idea, and a Donald Trump presidency could destroy that idea.
In an interview with CBS This Morning, Bono, whose real name is Paul David Hewson, argued that the Republican presidential nominee has already hijacked the GOP.
I think hes hijacked the party, and I think hes trying to hijack the idea of America, Bono said. And I think its bigger than all of us. I think its this is really dangerous.

So, having ideas which simply differ from Bono’s is literally destructive? That’s WAR talk, folks, whether anyone wants to believe it or not. That is an absolute mindset that cannot accommodate any compromise.
as if he ever care about the Republican Party.
So I guess Monday Beck will be ripping a new one for Cruz. The man has totally gone off the deep end. Kind of sad in reality.
Like I care what a singer from Ireland has to say about an Ameican election.
Oh thank God!
I’ve been sitting here all this time wondering what the esteemed political analyst Bono would say.
On a side note, I never had any feelings one way or the other about U2, until Apple automatically downloaded one of their CDs “for free” on my phone. This was back when I had just 8GB of storage and was very close to being full and it was a pain in the ass to figure out where the unwanted data came from. Giving away a music CD is nice; mandating that everyone gets a copy whether they want own it or not is the epitome of egostical narcasism.
Stuck in his European media filter bubble
Bono is friends with Establishment Republicans that have confused him.
Bono is experiencing anal leakage out of his mouth.
Shut up moron we don’t give a damn what you think.
Aging rock stars like Bono and Bruce Springsteen are irrelevant. The younger generation see Clinton for what she really is...
A radical leftist Moslem sympathizer named Obama hijacked his.
I thought they were Irish. Ireland ain’t England.
Not the same “younger generation” that favors worse such as Bernie? (Only worse because of being open about it, which is marginally worse.)
That’s just it; Casey was recording his show when they had their first hit and he said they were “an Irish band from Dublin”-— then when he lost his temper he said “these people are from ENGLAND”.
It was sampled in Negativland’s U2 CD single
Wikipedia:
>>The songs within were parodies of the group U2’s well-known 1987 song, “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For”, including kazoos and extensive sampling of the original song. The song “The Letter U And The Numeral 2” features a musical backing to an extended profane rant from well-known disc jockey Casey Kasem, lapsing out of his more polished and professional tone during a frustrating rehearsal which had gone out to many stations as raw feed and was taped by several engineers, who had been passing it around for a number of years. One of Kasem’s milder comments was “These guys are from England and who gives a s-—?” (U2 was actually formed in Ireland.)
They got berned...and he cashed in for yet another vacation home in exchange for publicly endorsing Public Enemy No. 1. Oh the disillusioned youth.
Bono, you Irish songster, stay home and stay out of US politics!!
I wish these liberals would stop worrying and opining on the state of the Republican party. It’s ours to preserve or destroy. This is akin to non-Christians opining on Scripture as if they believe in it.
Bono: Trump hijacked the Republican Party, could destroy America
I am confused. What makes these celebs think that just because people know their name they have important things to say. And, those who take heed in what they say are too simple to be allowed to vote anyway.
Fecking gobshitte!*(Irish for ‘’f’ing sh!t mouth)
Bono just wants to be invited to the White House but Trump will not do so.
