By the time Amber Swink was strapped into a restraint chair in an isolation cell, she had already been pepper-sprayed once.
Barely able to open her eyes as she struggled inside a seven-point harness at the Montgomery County Jail in Dayton, Ohio, Swink could hear deputies laughing.
Moments later, for reasons the 25-year-old said she still doesnt understand, Sgt. Judith L. Sealey approached the chair and fired a burst of pepper spray into Swinks face at point-blank range.
Swink had been arrested during a night of heavy drinking at her home that evening. Swink admits that she was still somewhat intoxicated at the time but recalled that the pain was nearly unbearable as her face was coated with oleoresin capsicum.

Why was she taken from her home?
It was so strong that another officer two hours later couldn't breathe in the room while giving her water.
I say do this 3-fold worse to the officer, and be done with it. If the officer survives, good for her. If she dies a horrible death, good for us.
They don’t torture terrorists like this in America.
Food for thought.
She needs to be put to death - this Judith Seeley
I can’t tell if we are in disagreement?
Convicts don’t treat cops that are inmates well. He probably will have to get protective custody, and then I hope he finds his way down some stairs.
yes
Obviously, the officer was in the wrong and used excessive force for reasons not stated in this article; the victim’s Lawyer seems to think s/he can make the case...in this case.
I’m just curious as to WHAT landed her in jail in the first place. That part of the story is MISSING.
You know...so I make sure it never happens to ME when I have a Martini or two IN MY OWN HOME on a weekend evening and the cops show up to haul ME (or you!) off to jail.
Just being pro-active. Heaven forfend we be safe in our own homes doing whatever the heck we want to when we want to on our OWN tax-revenue-generating-mortgaged properties!
Oops! My Conserva-Tarian bent must be showing. :)
Thanks. Reading it now...
OK. I read it all. STILL no info on why she was taken to the jail in the FIRST place.
Are the cops in that town just randomly breaking into homes and arresting people for doing their ‘thang’ while at home?
WHY was this woman in jail in the FIRST place. No one seems to know.
In case anyone is reading me wrong, I just want to know. Because if she was in jail on bogus charges to begin with, then she has a REALLY good case.
13. Plaintiff Amber Swink was pres ent at that address with her boyfriend, Thomas Pinney along with the homes owner, Louise Crow, and had consumed alcoholic beverages that evening and was intoxicated.
14. Ofc. Corcoran subsequently asked Plaintiff Amber Swink to step outside and when she refused and started to close the door he gra bbed her by the wrist, took her to the ground, put her in handcuffs and placed her in the back of his police cruiser.
15. During this arrest Ofc. Corcorans gl asses fell to the ground were damaged.
16. Ofc. Scott then opened the door to the police cr uiser to inform Plaintiff Amber Swink that she was being arrested and that temporary a rrangements would need to be made for the custody of her son.
17. When Ofc. Scott told Plaintiff Swink to put her feet back inside the police cruiser she refused to do so and when the officer went to physically place her feet back in the cruiser she kick at the officer with he r left foot, which caused no injury to the officer but made contact with him.
18. After placing Plaintiff Swink back in the rear of the police cruiser, Ofc. Scott retrieved leg restraints from his trunk, pulled Plaintiff Ambe r Swink back out of th e police cruiser with the assistance of Sgt. Wortman, placed the le g restraints on her and then placed her back in the rear of the police cruiser.
They dragged her out of her own home while responding to a domestic disturbance call. She was not giving them a ration of sh!t if she was closing the door on them.
As far as I can tell they kidnapped her before they tortured her.
Or any of yours.
I am willing to bet that either they don't and this chick is exploiting that, or Miss Adventure's little video is going to be entertaining a lot of people at the courthouse.
She was just drunk when they seized her from a private residence.
No assertion or charge that she was assaulting anyone, or trespassing.
I'm going to my corner now.
Watch it before you embarrass yourself.
The heavyset white officer who came in later to check on her was having trouble breathing himself, he kept covering his mouth and stepping back. He put on latex gloves just to touch her, checking for a pulse? They knew before a few minutes had passed that they had a big problem on their hands, and chose to obstruct rather than come clean.
What, exactly, was this woman charged with, to be arrested in her own home, anyway? Has this been established?
“As far as I can tell they kidnapped her before they tortured her.”
Well, FINALLY! The REST of the story! That’s all I wanted. Thank you!
