The photos Drudge uses often contain riddles, clues or inside jokes.
Use of a single BACK-TICK mark in the extreme upper-left corner of his site traditionally indicates to long-time fans that a HUGE STORY is about to hit.
When it does hit, in every case a flashing siren accompanies the headline, which is often in a huge, red font.

By dangling this, Drudge COULD BE trying to induce someone else who is holding the story to go ahead and make it public.
Like it is a story that was SPIKED, leaked to Drudge, and now Drudge is giving off the impression that instead HE will run with it, thereby prompting the original Story Haver to go with it.
THAT IS MY TOTALLY BLIND SPECULATION.

I think that I’ve seen the mark on Drudge before and assumed it was an error. Don’t recall that it preceded big news. Interesting.
The number of carriage returns between that grave mark and the picture of that football player is increasing. A short time ago, there was no space, but now there are at least three lines between it and the pic.

I have only been aware of this particular instance for...about 4 or 5 hours.
And my guess is that we won’t find out until some time tomorrow.
The space you are seeing changes size based on ad display. If you look at the formatting code, there is nothing to indicate spaces for the grave mark.
The electors are the ones who cast a ballot for the individual. They follow party instructions. The governor transmits the electors results (which is emphatically not the "citizen vote" results) to the Congress.

That’s pretty great, and a metaphor for something.
Today’s college students want safe spaces, speech restrictions, and Pre-signed Sexual Consent Documents before the first spit is swapped.
Not of the same magnitude as bringing a tiger to campus...but in the late 70s I gave my Communication Class required 20-minute speech on how to clean my dad’s Ithaca Model 37. We had to clear it with the department chair, and I had to keep it cased while toting it across campus...no one even blinked.
Imagine trying it now.
