A picture truly is worth a thousand words:
Yup, Apple has always catered to the high end of the market. Android is so far ahead because its open and free and is put on everything.
I've upgraded to a newer(still too old phone) and I need to root it.
But I'm thinking of getting a newer one. But either one, I'm definitely going to root it to gain control.
After all its just a Linux operating system.
...It's just a fad.
Android took the lead, absolutely true. Android is made by Google, and is distributed FREE of charge to anyone who wants to build a phone. It is indeed Open Source. Google invests millions, if not hundreds of millions giving away a free OS. Why?
Here is a hint. If a company gives away a product or service; make no mistake - YOU are the product.
There is a reason why Apple goes out of their way to make the iPhone’s secure. There is no need for the NSA to even ask for the encryption on Android; as Google has made every email, every text and every phone call open to them.
Apple, then as now, has told the FBI to go pound sand. It’s the most secure consumer OS on the market.
About 600.
IOS/MacOS is Unix too.
I am in the same boat. I absolutely love my Nokia Icon. I’ve run Windows 8, 8.1 and I’m now on 10. I’ve no seen a single issue and I’m about 28 months and hopefully many more to go. I dread the day I have to get a new phone.
Had a Blackberry (company issue) - tolerated it. Moved to a Winphone-8 - the first one would freeze up but the 2nd one was fantastic. Got abruptly moved to iphone 6 - I absolutely despise it. I’ve begged to retrograde to another Winphone but no joy.
They wouldn’t consider Android because they couldn’t control them but recently the instituted Airwatch management application (which sucks but apparently gives the geeks the control they demand) so maybe they’ll open up to Android phones in the near future.
I heard 850k. I've had the 2 and 4. Won't pony up $950.00 with accessories any more. Going to go for something like the Axon 7 or One plus 3 when the Note 4 gives up.
Tim Cook isn’t the only person willing to make a buck by destroying the Constitution.
People who want to be above the Fourth Amendment can get apps for Android phones to do so.
Haha! Mine too. AT&T just forced a new one on me.
Based on what my friends have, I never would have guessed that iPhones represent a small share of the market.
Why don’t you post a chart of profitability of mobile platforms...?
Symbian? It’s a toy for the ladies I think.
How does that benefit the consumer?
“How does that benefit the consumer?”
You said android is “dominant.”
You used one single definition.
I asked for another.
Do you not have it?
Apple is not blaming the problem on its users and the few dozen problem screens after almost TWO YEARS on the market is not the same as 35 exploding batteries and more phones that burst into flames on a brand new model that has only been on the market for under a month or so! Also, an iPhone that merely requires a re-start to again begin working is a far cry from an Android phone that sets your clothing on fire and/or gives its owner second and/or third degree burns. Nice try, but no rotten bananas.
Alphabet/Google is far more leftist than is Apple. . . and Google mines your data and tracks you. Apple does not.
Assuming Blackberry is still in business, I might go for them. They use Android, but they installed their patented security system on it so it’s not accessible.
