Daniel Craig ‘offered $150 million to return as James Bond’

Many men – and women too, for that matter – would love to play James Bond. Most of us would also love $150 million.

But Hollywood superstar Daniel Craig is not most people.

The 007 actor, who has played the spy since 2005, has reportedly been offered the hefty sum listed above to return to the franchise for two more films. But Craig has made no secret of his reluctance to step back into the famous tuxedo.

“The studio is desperate to secure the actor’s services while they phase in a younger long-term successor,” a source told the celebrity news website Radar.

The source also suggested that by playing coy – remember when he told an interviewer he’d rather “slash his wrists” than immediately return to Bond? – Craig has only upped his perceived value.

Yes, Daniel Craig is the best James Bond.

His character and the portrayal is tougher and more credible for a secret agent.

$150mil for two more movies. Impossible to refuse. No actor in history has been paid as handsomely.

Skyfall was terrific. Spectre was OK but not really memorable. If anything, Craig looked bored playing the role, going through the motions.

Have not seen any of his Bond movies. I tend to watch the Connery ones...my favorites.

I may be in the minority on this, but to be honest, I think the last several Bond films have been a little too indulgent of Bond (Skyfall) or just over the top (Quantum). I was disappointed in both and passed on Spectre. And I still prefer Sean Connery.

$150 million for a six-year contract extension?!?! Who does he think he is, an NFL quarterback?

Connery was best. Timothy Dalton a close second.

Timothy Dalton would have been a great Bond if he was in better versions. He was caught up in the 80’s Bond doldrums.

I liked him in Casino Royale.

Eva Green was also stunning.

Perhaps Sean can come back as Bond’s father like Indiana Jones.

I like Craig’s portrayal of Bond.

I would like to see Tom Hardy in the role, too.

I watch The Drop over and over.

The worst Bond actually. Too short, wrong hair color, not nearly handsome enough, with little of the British sophistication that made Bond, well, Bond. He seems more like a middle class ex-SAS trooper than an Eaton educated Royal Navy commander.

His financial negotiation tactics alone, make him perfect for the part. He’s playing hardball with the producers and he’s going to win and everybody knows Bond always plays hardball and always wins. These two movies will likely make a billion or two, so what’s wrong with 100 million per movie? Hang in their Daniel... They’ll succumb.

If you go back and read the books Craig fits the Bond persona best, next George Lazenby, then Connery, then Dalton.

From a cinematic viewpoint, for me its Connery, Dalton, & Craig.

Worst was Roger Moore, I think it was the writing, all his Bond movies were camp. He was certainly “cool” enough, after all he was “The Saint”! ,
