American truckers, and the big rigs they drive, are literally the lifeblood of this nation, transporting food, raw materials and finished goods from one end of the country to the other and back again, delivering what is needed where it is needed when it is needed on a daily basis.
But those truckers just had a major roadblock placed in their way, courtesy of President Barack Obamas Environmental Protection Agency, and the consequences for not only the trucking industry, but America as a whole, could be devastating.
According to The Daily Caller, the EPA just announced on Tuesday that it had yet again made changes to the fuel emissions standards that govern big rig semi-trucks, large work trucks, vans and buses, all in the name of fighting the ever-elusive climate change.
Of course, many in the trucking industry will find it incredibly difficult and costly to meet these strict new standards that take effect in 2018, especially when they are already struggling to meet the heightened standards just put in place a few years ago.
This is particularly true for small businesses and independent truckers, so the administration has given them an out that reeks of Chicago-style extortion.
Yes, the EPA has instituted a special fine that can be paid by those who fail to comply with the new standards, allowing them to continue their business operations, for a price. There is no word on exactly how this fine will magically make their vehicles no longer pollute or be considered harmful to the environment.
“Simple, just send AF1 on a mission for God.”
And make sure all the seats are full with press corp(ses).
Starve the bastards in DC! BOYCOTT ALL DELIVERIES TO DC..........
I think that EVERY truck driver should go to their lot, drop the rig and if they own the rig, drive away, go home for a week, and lets see how long it takes the government to threaten to get them back on the roads...
The Railroads need to be included in this ‘week off’ as they haul the trailers by rail now as their excuse, it’s cheaper than fuel...
Yes, it will be us that hurts, as the shelves will be empty in about 24 hours, but we have to draw a line and now is that time to draw the line...
We the American Voters are running this election, so lets show them just how much ‘power’ we have, shut down this nation for one week, that will open some eyes in about 72 hours...
What is Barky going to do, threaten us? ROFL...go ahead!!!
I hear that...I see it everyday...
A few months ago, my daughter and I was going back to a town in Utah that we lived in, I pointed out to her 3 Mexican trucks as we passed them, she was shocked, she asked why will they let them get on the roads, and you had all these rules to obey while you were driving, easy I said, they (DOT) are told to ‘stand down’....
Have the Teamsters come out for any candidate? I know Trump met with them, but I can’t remember if they’ve endorsed anyone.
Get Bannon on this right away, haha
That is wha im talkin bout. Shut down this truckin. These environmental wackos will get hung!! ON TV!!!
Everyday! I can’t imagine The List of Things Barry’s C.E.O. Valerie Jarrett has planned for just the next 150 odd days.
Couldn’t a President Trump overturn those regs, delay them, or otherwise make them inoperative? 2018 is a while off.
Government is nothing but a collection of racketeers imposing extortion payments.
Oh, well, that is interesting. Didn't know that.
Obviously, if they are stuck in that way, I guess it won't work.
Thanks for the info! Anyway, if any truckers are reading this, they should know that FR has your back! :)
does this have anything to do with warren buffetts investment in a clean diesel company..... and his not paying $2,5 billion in back taxes..... nah .... couldn’t be...
Congress should pass a LAW that says that all bureaus have to submit proposals to Congress to be passed into LAW...... not just issue these regs that have the effect of LAW...
Translation:
“Truckers aren’t reliable democrat votes, so they’re going to have their livelihoods destroyed in the name of political expediency.”
Obama is filth.
His standard reaction to a threat is soiling himself...
His administration's appointed thugs (cabinet heads, department heads, agency heads, etc.) are compliant, traitorous enforcers who carry out his wishes through edicts, regulations, extortion, blackmail, relentless pressures and threats of many varieties.
We are now neck-deep in the nazi propaganda stage and we're also undergoing the commie diktat stage (such as the above dictate.... i,e., destructive regulatory orders enforced through a central authority without the consent of the governed).
Our resident dictator undoubtedly has a plan for the eventual use of storm troopers of some kind...a coercive force ALWAYS resorted to by the despots and autocrats of the past right up to today's world.
Ostriches say "it can't happen here"...but it's happening every day.....and another four years with Frau Hitlery pushing pointer sticks in the Map Room will bring us all down....
.....unless.....
Leni
LOL.
It would also be good to disband a great deal of alphabet agencies that first day as well.
This is all a political ploy, that will back fire.
Obama figures it will smoke Trump to come out against these regulations, and that in turn will turn off the Bernie Voters, and will play to Hillary’s base who will be for them.
Where as Jeb Bush and others would pander to the left, Trump will come strongly pointing out how the Obama and Hillary Administration are lock step on this.
Advantage Trump. He loses a few of the Bernie people but now has the Teamsters, although I thought they came out endorsing Hillary.
——STRIKE!!!-—
now there’s a good thought
Solidarity....... what irony
And, we have to help him do that!
THAT is a great point. I wonder how long a trucker boycott of the entire DC area would have to go on before they relented?
