Since the mid-1970s, modern physics has rested on the knowledge of four fundamental forces of nature: gravity, electromagnetism, the strong nuclear force, and the weak nuclear force.
Now scientists are on the verge of discovering a fifth force of nature, which could change the field of physics forever.
According to a recent paper published by University of California physicists in the peer-reviewed journal Physical Review Letters, what physicists thought was a new particle of matter could be a new force altogether.

I don’t think cutting the cheese should be a 5th force but you never know.
Midi-chlorians?
As for this fifth force, I understand it. After all, there are at least 5 dimensions. Why no a force for each of them?
However, gravity is NOT the fourth. It is something far and away simpler. Please, read my book (besides, I could use the money) on Amazon, titled Nation of One.
Physics moves closer to faith.
“Recent findings indicating the possible discovery of a previously unknown subatomic particle may be evidence of a fifth fundamental force of nature, according to new research by theoretical physicists.”. https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2016/08/160815185830.htm
Something to follow for sure.
“We don’t know that it does not, NOT exist, now do we? Theoretically..”
I like what one physicist told me once: That the work Einstein did is equal to an amoeba sticking a portion of its cell wall out of the slime. In other words, the universe is so insanely complicated, that it will never ever be fully understood by humans, ever, basically because we do not have the brains for it. Until the brain issue is solved, we are dead in the water.

Book mark. :)

May the force be with you!
So what is your take on what CERN is doing?
Too many books with that title. You’re going to have to use your name.
Must be that time of year for grant renewals...
will it is related to a lot of hot air
I think humanity has reached its peak of intelligence. Those people who vote with feelings, not intellect--Democrat voters--are a symptom of the fact that overall intelligence is decreasing. Eventually, there will be no one left who is intelligent enough to build the machines and gadgets that allow really dumb people to live.
