I don’t think cutting the cheese should be a 5th force but you never know.
Midi-chlorians?
As for this fifth force, I understand it. After all, there are at least 5 dimensions. Why no a force for each of them?
However, gravity is NOT the fourth. It is something far and away simpler. Please, read my book (besides, I could use the money) on Amazon, titled Nation of One.
Physics moves closer to faith.
“Recent findings indicating the possible discovery of a previously unknown subatomic particle may be evidence of a fifth fundamental force of nature, according to new research by theoretical physicists.”. https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2016/08/160815185830.htm
Something to follow for sure.
I like what one physicist told me once: That the work Einstein did is equal to an amoeba sticking a portion of its cell wall out of the slime. In other words, the universe is so insanely complicated, that it will never ever be fully understood by humans, ever, basically because we do not have the brains for it. Until the brain issue is solved, we are dead in the water.

May the force be with you!
Must be that time of year for grant renewals...
Scientists are slow, we know about the 5th force for months, and it is Trump.
Well, something is fundamentally wrong with the basic model, if you need to “assume” that 80% - 85% of the universe cannot be seen, detected, nor measured (dark matter) in order to make “light work” as it travels through the universe attracted to dark matter and dark energy.
It is far easier to believe in “magic” than to be told 85% of the universe cannot be detected, but “It must be there because our math says it must be there. “
Far easier, in fact, to just accept one miracle at the Beginning of Everything.
May the force be with them.
