The whole thing sucks big time!

This probably will not end up well.

Figured this was going to happen. Which is why this household will not watch it.

The sound mixing is terrible.

Why even have a couple of weak-voiced commentators when most of what they're saying is covered up by crowd noise.

I turned on Forensic Science till the ending ceremonies. The Olympic Flame feature was certainly creative and spectacular.....and worth staying up so late to enjoy it.

I couldn’t care less about the job NBC has been doing. It’s possible they are doing a bad job of coverage. Certainly a lot of commercials.

I have really enjoyed it. Except for the global warming crap, during which I sat and argued with the television, and that, annoyed the wife. But other than that, I thought it was wonderful.

The last Olympics I remember had Jim McKay talking about ‘the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat,’ while some gomer on skis wiped out on the long jump.

I’ll watch the events from recordings. Never another “Up close and personal” for me.

Recorded it and fast-forward through the entire 4.30 hours in 50 minutes just slowing down to normal for the main highlights. Didn't listen to ANY of the NBC narcissistic commentary or incessant commercials.

Several things; Nearly every countrie's athletes were proudly carrying and waving their respective nation's flag, EXCEPT FOR THE AMERICAN ATHLETES: NO AMERICAN FLAGS! Disgraceful. One more gripe: All the various, narcissistic, self-centered athletes taking pictures of themselves using "selfie sticks": Nauseating! In the future the use of "selfie sticks" should be permanently banned.

Nope. Caught a few minutes after the Cards game ended.
Got to see the “refugee team” enter. Then changed to Murder, She Wrote.

I doubt I will watch much this time even of my favorite events.

No, the family and I have better things to do. We are watching Ant-man at the moment.

Once they got to the part about the theme of the Olympics was man made global warming, I turned it off. I could only stand so much hypocrisy. Besides, it was boring.

In the words of NBC’s analysts (and indeed, everyone on the DNC’s mailing list...) this is a dark, dark opening ceremony, full of references to slavery, global warming, deforestation, overcrowding, urbanization...

Not to mention the awful carbon footprint of all those who attended the games, and the fireworks constantly going off, which of course releases even more awful chemicals, pollutants and greenhouse gasses.

In what should be a uniting moment for the world, Brazil delivers rainstorms in stairwells.

I actually like the athlete’s walk.

It’s refreshing to see so many countries and people with smiles on their faces. Gives me some hope.

I especially like the smaller countries and their contingents. The native dress and all!

Thanks for the news that NBC is plastering the show with ads. I’m not watching and have zero desire to watch. NBC paid a ton to show the Olympics. Bad investment. Greece should always host the Olympics to boost its tourism.

Nope, I skipped (no DVR either)...went out for dinner & the local farmer’s market. I heard some details in advance like “supermodel parades around and gets mugged”...was enough for me to skip w/o a second thought.

I forced myself to watch part of the opening ceremony, those had to be some of the gaudiest outfits I’ve ever seen in my life.

I only use my t.v to watch dvd. I heard the ceremony sucked. Have the damned thing in Greece permanently. Africa is going to want a turn next if they can find a crap hole that could put on a show.
