CLEVELAND — For the first time in 36 years, there was a vote on the floor of a party’s nominating convention this past Monday that actually held an element of suspense.
In the hour or so ahead of a vote in which insurgents were attempting to reset the convention rules, Republican National Committee operatives circulated the floor and the back halls of Quicken Loans Arena, buttonholing delegates to argue why they should retract support for the motion, and getting them to sign their names to withdrawal forms. Trump aides, by contrast, bullied delegates with vague and ineffective threats.
In one corner of the arena floor, near CNN’s broadcast booth, delegates from the District of Columbia listened to appeals from high-ranking RNC officials.
The RNC’s argument to the D.C. delegates boiled down to this: A vote for the rules reset would open the door to Ted Cruz becoming the GOP’s nominee four years from now.

What a POS. He steals Trump’s words - “this is a movement.” Then invokes General Patton’s words - and tells the audience about their conscience. That means he wants them to vote for someone other than Trump. He says the answers for this country won’t come from Washington from either party -so why does he want to go there so bad? He is sickening. The funny part is right after he says we have our nominee - the Trump plane flies over drowning him out. God has a sense of humor for sure. Oh yeah, he lies about his number of delegates - said he had almost 600. After yesterday, he had less than 500, And the sheeple clap like the bots they are.

You're right. Texans will vote for Sheila Jackass Lee, so I'm sure they'll take no issue putting this slimeball back in office.
In that metaphor, Cruz is the bath water. He deserves to be thrown out.

Our news outlets have become a joke, a bad joke that is. They are no longer the purveyor of news, but rather propaganda outlets for the liberal view on every issue.
Some Hollywood movies are okay, but there again, the majority of it is trash, and so are the actors & actresses. I really prefer the older movies.

I don't and I was a huge Cruz supporter early on until he stepped on his middle leg. I've had many mis-givings about Trump, but will vote for him even though I live in California that makes my vote wortless. Even while being a Cruz supporter and catching flak here, I've always said that if Trump wins the Presidency I hope he will appoint THE best people as his history shows.
I'm now further encouraged with his choice for VP and his list of Justices. I believe he will appoint the very best capable to his Cabinet. If he becomes a figure-head like the Huffies are claiming today, as long as he has true Constitutional people in place he can go golfing every day for all I care.
President Reagan knew how to delegate - I believe Trump will also. That's the mark of top leadership. The President doesn't run the country on a day by day basis and neither do most CEO's. They rely on their well-chosen staff and department heads.
Start by firing from the top down. While it's a given he will appoint his own Cabinet which will rid us of those Obama socialists. I would suggest President Trump create a special transitional team to look at each so-called career appointee, especially FBI Director Comey. Also, fire U.S. Attorneys as Clinton did. Billy-boy set the precedence. Would be difficult for the MSM to argue.
Yes, I'm willing for my tax dollars to go to such a cleansing of our Fedgov!

I can’t imagine ever voting for lyin Ted. He represents almost everything I detest in deluded, sanctimonious, superior, disingenuous and creepy politicians. FUTC.
Others are too busy excoriating Cruz and fellow Freepers who do not agree with their assessment to remember how abominably Trump treated him during the campaign or to note how incredibly obnoxiously Kasich is currently treating Trump.
The amnesia of sore loser Cruzers never ceases to amaze. Ted Cruz gave as good as he got. Even PERSONALLY smearing Trump supporters as “low info”. Apparently Saint Rafael of Goldman can say and do anything. How pathetic is that?
