No link. I heard it on fox news.

Police association is wanting Ohio state law regarding open carry suspended so there are no open guns during the Republican convention.

Kasich has refused their request.

The stage has been set, but my guess is Trump’s Team has a few contingency plans in place should certain challenges come up. Don’t depend on the feckless RNC that is so accustomed to losing with “grace”.

So the police can sit back and watch animal hordes attack, beat and maim unarmed Republicans?

Having received my CCW just last week (4 weeks to clear the bureaucracy here); I would have a very nasty surprise for someone who decided that my vote was not worthy to be counted, because they disagreed. Forefathers died for my rights, and if they want to suppress those rights; their choice is binary as will the results of this encounter will be. Leave me alone, keep your hands to yourself, harm no one; and you will never discover what caliber I chose to carry today.

Why can’t Kasich declare the protest areas non-gun zones for that week?

It’s my understanding you have to have a permit to open carry (a conceal carry license). It applies to anyone. Ohio, from what I understand, does NOT have reciprocal arrangements with other states, but honors all ccw’s.

I could be wrong.

He should not, because he cannot, suspend law...but he should call out the National Guard to be ready NOW. They don’t have to be in position, but have them ready to move in on a moment’s notice.

The request was made by Officer Steve Loomis, union rep for the Cleveland Police Patrolman’s Association. He was on the air earlier with Harris Faulkner on Fox. The request was to ban open carry in Cuyahoga County for the coming week.

Respect the laws, arrest protesters. Zero tolerance and all will be fine. Let citizens defend themselves as we see too often, such as San Jose, where the police stand by and let people be assaulted. Good to see governor say no martial law, which is what he’d likely have to declare.

Ohio doesn’t have reciprocal agreements but honors out of state ccw anyway. From what I understand.

Lyn’ Ted has no place, invite or not. He and his supporters should stay home. Period.

Can’t they temporarily declare the area around the convention a gun free zone? I would think the language could stipulate a timeframe during the convention that this would apply.

They’re killing cops in Baton Rouge, isn’t anyone going to protect our police?

“Rnc and Trump should pay millions to bring in outside police counties”

Heard yesterday that Cleveland received $50 million in federal dollars for security. They are spending like kids in a candy store, so they better put it all to good use. My guess it will turn political, they will just let the BLM goons go crazy. But they get to keep the candy!

exactly. Unless the Ohio Constitution grants such power I don’t see how he could do it.
