Pluto isn't quite as lonely as scientists had thought.
Astronomers have discovered another dwarf planet in the Kuiper Belt, the ring of icy objects beyond Neptune. But this newfound world, dubbed 2015 RR245, is much more distant than Pluto, orbiting the sun once every 700 Earth years, scientists said. (Pluto completes one lap around the sun every 248 Earth years.)
"The icy worlds beyond Neptune trace how the giant planets formed and then moved out from the sun," discovery team member Michele Bannister, of the University of Victoria in British Columbia, said in a statement. "They let us piece together the history of our solar system."
...
The exact size of 2015 RR245 is not yet known, but the researchers think it's about 435 miles (700 kilometers) wide. Pluto is the largest resident of the Kuiper Belt, with a diameter of 1,474 miles (2,371 km).
The research team first spotted 2015 RR245 in February of this year, while poring over images that the Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope in Hawaii took in September 2015 as part of the ongoing Outer Solar System Origins Survey (OSSOS).
"There it was on the screen this dot of light moving so slowly that it had to be at least twice as far as Neptune from the sun," Bannister said.

Well... If you don't want to drink it you can always add some of it to the slo-cooker braising fluids if you toss a chunk of beast into it..
Might be worth the experimenting. ;-)
Something like this: Slow Cooker Beef Burgandy Recipe
As always, recipes are for ideas and tweaking, not orders from Supreme Command to be followed to the letter.. ;-)
And never, never tell Julia.. ;-)
It has become a yucky day. (Didn't A.A. Milne write that.. ? ;-)
Thanks T-c for all the pings. Checking in and onto the ship for about thirty minutes. Prayers, Hello(s) and Hugs for Everyone.
I printed out the recipe and will probably buy a beef roast just to try this. It does sound good! Thanks again!
As far a Julia is concerned, ny liks at seeld.
Hey, NtI! Good to almost see you! *hug*

The wind has picked up but it’s not going to bring any rain, since the wind is from the SE and all the rain is to the west of us.
I somehow missed all the weather prevarications this morning, so I have no idea what’s in store for tomorrow. At least, weatherwise. I will, of course, wash clothes and perhaps go to Walmart, and DEFINITELY go to vote.
But since I will wash my Arkansas Razorback jacket, I’m hoping for “mild” weather. At least until Tuesday...
Thanks! I miss you! <3
Best wishes!
Thank You for saying that ... I miss you and everyone here so much. Life (shrug) is keeping me very busy, dang it. I’m retired and busier than ever Face but one day I’ll die (oh Happy Day) and I will rest then. Must go **HUGS**
Upper 70s here, cloudy. Dragonbaby has crawled into her den is looking deeply offended with the universe. I checked the forecast, but there’s nothing that seems to call for crawling in a hole and spiking up, so maybe she’s just in a mood.
70s/80s and dry for the next five days.
DP renewed the AAA and upgraded, so we can have it towed tomorrow. Analysis indicates a short in the electrical system.
My Best Wishes to you and yours and prayers for all.
Thanks. All doing fine except for minor automotive glitches. Entropy ... it’s out there.
I’m going to do a Dragonbaby thing and go hibernate, because I can. The day is not getting better; the barometer is dropping, the storm glass is still showing crystals and I’m out of wine. My grandson has been writ to and I won’t make a journal entry today. I just need to make sure I wake up early and go wash clothes. If my paycheck is in, I will get to Walmart and then come home, hang the clothes to dry and pay the bills...
And that’s my life. Some days I win and some days I wish I had never gotten out of bed.
Hope it goes well!
And...
If you don’t manage to use it all as wine, if it sits long enough you’ll have some red wine vinegar which also has uses.
For instance the ‘acidic’ part of a marinade. Or in salad dressing.
If you find yourself in possession of the vinegar down the road keep in mind that it will not be the ‘reduced strength’ diluted version you find on store shelves. Also give it a taste test before using it in anything just to make sure it second-fermented with the ‘right’ yeasts and not some democrat-sponsored illegal alien variety from Searchlight with secondary ties to jihadists..
My mother had some wine that she was saving in case President Nixon ever came to dinner. Several moves after he left office, she opened it and found that it was unpotable.
Because it was vinegar? Or because it wasn't even useful as vinegar?
On an unrelated note, the iris I rescued from the freezystuff? Its blooms that were present have since withered. But at the moment of rescue there was a little tiny bud that I thought would never amount to anything because it was so underdeveloped.
Seems that that little tiny bud is about to open..
