There are SKS kits that allows it to be used with removable magazines (don’t know if the AK mags are used). Was that the case?

Well, well well, when will this be reported in the major media aka the propaganda arm of the Democrat party?

I’ve only seen one SKS rifle before.
I took it from a Viet Cong woman that I shot. (She’s not dead, we slowed her bleeding and got her to an Army hospital in time to save her life.)

This coward was shooting from concealment, he could have done as much damage with a bolt action rifle. No need for rapid reloading as he was hiding.

The shooter was a veteran. That’s likely more than just basic experience with firearms. If you’re good all you need is simple to do lots of damage.

In other words, another “domestic terrorist profile”: white, Christian, etc., etc., gets blown to shit. There are cultures where clusters this bad require face-saving measures, ahh, forget ....

What was the guy on the street (in the cell phone video) shooting from behind the concrete pillar using?

Just because it has NONE of the evil features that make it an “assault rifle” didn’t stop See?BS! from calling it one.

I said that night I thought the first 5 shots sounded like an AK. Never would have thought SKS.

I think the Soviets began designing the SKS right at the end of WWII. It was in part to be an urban warfare rifle. The Russians had some experience with urban warfare after being invaded and later doing house to house fighting to take over cities such as Berlin. The SKS is hardly a sniper rifle - not accurate enough.

Judging from the audio I heard, the Dallas shooter seemed to shoot a lot of rounds per victim. Did he need a lot of rounds because he did not hit his victim on the first round? Did he shoot his victims multiple times (maybe out of anger)? My impression is, he ambushed people so he was methodical in that sense, but then he shot rather wildly - not like a real marksman. I am sorry to sound so clinical about this horrible event. Maybe someone who knows what they are talking about could comment. It seems like every time a terrorist uses a rifle at more than point-blank range, the media and politicians call him a sniper and almost praise his skills.

Friend of mine had a Chicom one years ago- shot it at the range with him a couple of times. The ergos are a little small for me, but it was a decent little rifle, and I know there are options for replacing the furniture.

The SKS is a basic semi-auto rifle, and there are no bells and whistles to it. It is fairly accurate, but with iron sights I’d not want to rely on it for any shots much past 150 yards. I’m a pretty good shot, but I know my limitations, and the limitations of my tools.

I have a Russian SKS just like the one at the link. Same finish and sling. It was part of the assault weapons ban because of the fixed bayonet.

It is a fine rifle and quite accurate right out of the box.

It is my second amendment weapon, that I have a large supply of ammo for. Should the need to defend my second amendment rights becomes necessary or if the reason that the second amendment was written for becomes necessary. (not hunting, lol)

During the Clinton years, I bought my first gun. It was an SKS. I paid $106 and bought 500 rounds. I still have 460 rounds left. And the gun. It’s actually pretty amazing. No recoil to speak of, but it can take down pretty much anything I point it it, if necessary.

Add to this that the shooter had no prior arrests, making him eligible for a legal gun purchase, and what the heck is Obama yammering about gun control yet again??? The Democrats obviously want to disarm Americans so they can enslave us in our own country. Hillary should never become president.

Although it was not an AR15, the media will not allow this fact, or the truth prevent them from attempting to advance their agenda.

Someone had purchased an AR the other day and posted about it. I mentioned that I didn't need an AR here:

Was telling my wife that the shots (heard online) did not sound like a .223, but something with a little bit more punch. Happy with mine. Shoots beautifully and doesn't jam. Ammo cheap and readily available. Absolutely no need to be shooting police at all. The problem is going to be these leftists eventually arming up and shooting conservatives. They (and the muslims) hate us so much, they'll be acting on it.

Interesting to watch the shooter outmaneuver the policeman in the video. He ripped off shots to keep him pinned, paused, knew he was right handed from observation or the probability that under stress he would go to his right hand dominance and come around the right side of the pillar. He was right. Went to the weak side (left) and got him from behind. Policeman should have tried to retreat using the pillar as cover (if possible) to await backup or retreated as far away from the pillar as possible and gotten down on the ground in a prone position to present as low a profile as possible to shoot back. Oh well, 20-20 hindsight. In war you don't get a second chance like in the video games.
