To: Red in Blue PA

There are SKS kits that allows it to be used with removable magazines (don’t know if the AK mags are used). Was that the case?

I had a SKS with a removable 30 round mag. CA made it illegal in the 90’s and actually had a buy back program. They paid me $230. I paid $95 for it.

Yes, you can get removable mags for the SKS. The SKS and AK-47 use completely different magazines. The SKS has a "duck bill" on it. You can get them in 10, 20, 30, or 40 round mags and even higher capacity drums.

You just need to remove the box mag to be able to use higher capacity mags. Takes 30 secs.

I do remember seeing the kits that used ak mags.
