I love the 2nd is for the militia. Really? they needed an amendment that said armies could be armed. Until that point, armies had not been armed? It is a ridiculous argument.

All of the first ten articles enumerate individual freedoms and protections and limits of government. It is ridiculous to suggest that the second is there to ensure arming a militia or army. furthermore, it is silly to suggest that the thing they thought second most important was hunting and recreating.

The second amendment is for one purpose and one purpose only:

“When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another. . . .”

This is all very fine and good but it doesn’t matter because truth doesn’t matter to committed leftists. They have decided that the 2nd amendment is not an individual right but a collective right and all the truth and history in the world will not change their minds.

I like the way Charlie Reese said it years ago.

“A well educated ELITE, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to be educated, shall not be infringed.” does NOT give ONLY The ELITE the right to be educated.

Then there is that little numbering of rights listed in the Dred Scott decision, on of which is “the RIGHT TO KEEP AND CARRY ARMS wherever they went.”
