Uber is coming under increased scrutiny after leaked documents indicated their drivers really dont make all that much money.
Ive been saying this for a while, its an Uber disappointment, explained driver Kelsey Tilander

You cannot report an accident to Uber two days after the fact. Actually, you can’t report it at all, usually, but you can try to report it immediately. That at least lends credence to that it happened on their watch. But, as I said, they won’t do anything about.
I used the Uber app for the first time last week while in Charleston, SC. Fantastic service, great price compared to traditional taxis. I always tipped big...they’re that good.
Uber drivers work as many hours as they want. It’s money on the side for most.
It may be, but with high unemployment due to Obama, for many it is a way to make ends meet. Also, I admire men and women who take this thankless job because they loathe being idle and unemployed. Those are real Americans.
We can’t pick our born-into family, but we can pick our own family and friends.
Well, this could be an entire thread in and of itself, or a completely separate website, to discuss family dynamics, and how many of us just aren’t one big happy family.
I’ve got liberals in my family, who are incapable of discussing the issues. They say anyone opposed to them are racist sexist homophobic, Islamophobic, the whole nine yards. They listen only to NPR and watch comedians such as Jon Stewart to get their news.
Other family members are just rude crude and obnoxious.
Manhattan is almost all “black car” level. No ride sharing level or whatever they call it. Your observation matches what I have been told: with the shorter fares, drivers may actually lose money after expenses.
I retired serveral years ago and started driving for Uber a year ago. I have a 2007 Town and Country mini van. If I put in 40 hours during the week, I clear about $900 after paying for gas. That’s greater then $20/hr. Pretty good income for an old retired person. Also, it is actually enjoyable. Everyone wants to talk about current events. I send them to freerepublic.
The blue book value on my 2007 Town and Country with 170,000 miles is $1500. I will clear about $40,000 this year driving for Uber with this car. Depreciation is not an issue.
I would agree from knowing a couple of Uber drivers and LYFT drivers. I don’t see how they can make any kind of money.

I think your urban Uber myth is busted.
So... look for another job. It’s kind of how it works folks.
do I know hes properly insured? Does his insurance company know hes carrying passengers for hire? Does he have a chauffers license? hows his car maintained? A least a legit taxi service is likely to have deep pockets insurance. Uber driver, not so much.
**********
Yes , Uber carries the coverage
Not likely but they are uninvolved while the car is for hire.
No, at least in Florida they no longer exist ,, just regular and CDL
Maintained? If not rate his ride low...
Insurance (again?) , Uber carries it...
UBER also requires a comprehensive mechanical inspection (paid for by UBER).....no salvaged vehicles allowed....no visible body work repairs...annual re-inspection.
That literally took me 2 seconds:

It ain’t just uber drivers “Barely Making Ends Meet.”
Your ignorance on Uber is appalling.
Because Uber is promoted by leftists as some solution to jobs. It is also wrongly promoted by Conservatives with defective rationale of free market. Because Uber enters markets breaking the local laws. The list is endless. Our community stood up to them and they left. The truth has always been evident but was always overtaken by the fawning supporters, even on FR. Truth will win out, despite your lackadaisical attitude and puissant remark... /s
Either you've misspelled "pissant", or you have no idea what the word "puissant" means.
Be that as it may, if one cannot generate sufficient income from one venture...one should move to another venture and try again...as opposed to pissing and moaning.
I always find it funny when “compassionate” liberals can turn out to be the worst tippers. I tip well when service is good and VERY well when service is very good. I know that ppl in most service jobs are not making a lot and I am happy to reward good behavior. But some libs I have known are such tightwads...!!
If you're carrying concealed, who would know?
