I know what you mean, but I believe we’ll have to wait and see. Will he over time start to make decisions with the Lord in mind, and say so, talking about how his faith influenced his decisions?

Just happened a couple days ago from what I read, I take Dobson at his word.
What evidence is there that he hasn't? Compare him to the "run of the mill" Christian and there is nothing to say he hasn't accepted Christ and he's probably does less daily evil than a whole lot of long-term Christians.
If Trump were to follow his decision with Believer’s Baptism as a public profession of faith, it would lend more weight. In any case, if he made a decision for Christ, what’s in his heart is between God and him.
We’re not hiring a preacher in November. Frankly, we can do without any more “Christians” like Jimmy Carter in the White House.

Don’t go and take this all personal. I don’t know you. It’s a discussion.
Not for you to know/judge. God knows, that’s all that matters. I would venture to guess that 1/2 to 3/4 of your church congregation are not saved. Maybe even fewer than that. Do you also profess to know which ones? Are you even one of them? (again not personal, just a discussion)

Consider the words “few” and “many” as a percentage. What percentage would you think “few” is? I was taught as a child that 2 was a pair and that a few was 3 or 4. I would say that it can’t be more than 10% (more likely 5%).
So whether Donald Trump (or you for that matter) is truly “saved”, is questionable, thankfully there is still time to repent and accept His FREE gift.

Only God knows our hearts, Trump’s included. Dobson doesn’t. Dobson’s a pompous a$$.
I hope Dobson is right, but since it is something I can’t possibly know for certain about “anyone”, I am not going to let it influence my voting decision for president. Neither should anyone else, for the same reason.
Please don’t send me verses about “fruit”. They have nothing to do with salvation. Remember “not of works”.

I couldn’t prove to you my acceptance of Jesus as Lord and Master but I have, almost 60 years ago. Let’s take his word for it. That won’t make him perfect but it’s a start. I pray that he will continue to grow in our Lord, whether he becomes President or not.
I know it’s a hard thing but I ought to be praying that Hillary accepts the Lord as Savior too. Nothing’s impossible for God to do.
