One of the Orlando shooting survivors has admitted to locking an exit door, putting dozens of revelers' lives at risk during the massacre. The revelations about Luis Burbano's actions the night of the shooting have come to light after he gave an interview, saying he 'regrets' his second chance at life. When gunman Omar Mateen first started firing inside Orlando, Florida gay club Pulse around 2am on Sunday, Burbano says he dropped to the ground and then looked for an exit. Nearby, he saw people moving through a small 'employee's only' door hidden behind a curtain, and followed after. On the other side of the door was a narrow hallway where Burbano estimates about 20 people were crawling over each other to get to the exit at the other end. Burbano says he decided to shut the door behind him because the hallway was getting dangerously overcrowded. Burbano was questioned about the rumors he locked other partiers inside the club during an interview With Fox News' Megyn Kelly on Sunday, and during the interview he admitted that it was risky. 'That was on my mind,' Burbano said. 'There was banging, there was pushing of the door...but at that point in time, I just tried doing what I thought would be best at that moment because [the gunshots were] getting louder and getting closer.'

And he did as the DHS recommends:
“Bring everyone into the room(s). Shut and lock the door(s).”

Read somewhere that this guy is an actor...one of those “crisis” actors.
Sounds like the results of a seventh grade education with a seventh century mindset.
Maybe hell be nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize since I don’t think there is an Order of the Chickens#it award.
Agreed.
This is why most gays are unfit for military service.
It was more like “I’m in ... now lock the doors.
“
If his account is accurate, there were dozens of people jammed into a narrow, fenced in alley outside that door, trying to escape through a small opening in the fence. As cruel as holding the door closed sounds after the fact, there could have been deaths in the alley as well due to people being crushed to death. It may have been a reasonable response given the circumstance.
Profiles in Courage
WHAT?!?! What a POS!
No you didn't you weren't there. You weren't experiencing the sounds of rifle shots going off in an enclosed room, you weren't experiencing the yelling and screaming of people in complete panic........You weren't in a total protective mode expecting the next shot to hit you in the head........
In other words, you're just an ignorant keyboard monkey who has no business making that kind of a judgment on someone who just survived a massive massacre of his fellow human beings.......
You're a pathetic jerk........
“Shelter in place is what that is called.”
They were headed for the exit.
no...its a crap headline...during the interview he said he kept the doors shut as there were a bunch of people in the room with him trying to get out of a small hole in the wall and he wanted to give them time to escape...
headline is trying to stir the crap pot...
give this poor guy a break.
if you were in a room with others and some guy was shooting people and he started walking towards you and you bolted through the door... are you telling me you all would leave the door open? ANYONE would have closed the door after them if they believed the guy was coming towards them at that moment.
