If somebody wanted to revisit the ‘feminine’ mold, watch some older James Bond movies and watch the cream of the crop in the 60s. There’s meat on them bones and their features are quite striking even without makeup. Curves were really curves. No need for breast enhancements.

That’s what they should have done. Make a movie that is similar to Ghostbusters, but wasn’t. They could have dine something along the lines of con artist exorcists that have found themselves having to perform a real exorcist and it probably would have done very well, if it was well written and funny.

I have always thought that with today’s technology, someone should make a movie about the Battle for Guadalcalanal 1942 which would include prominently featured sea battles such as the Battle of Savo Island, and the 1st and 2nd Naval Battles for Guadalcanal.

Or, even better around the Philippines in 1944 (Battle of Leyte Gulf) which has the last gasp of the IJN, blunders being made, a charge of the Light Brigade made by destroyers instead of mounted calvary, complete with ironic historic date alignment, baits being taken, messages lost, etc.

I think it would be brilliantly good. So many people are unaware of those things.

Pearl Harbor and Midway have been done (albeit somewhat poorly) and one already knows how Hollywood can hack up those things, so something new would be better.

And I agree with the concept of changing characters around to suit a social justice requirement. Unwatchable to me.

I think the remakes of foreign films are worthy. Examples that come to mind are: Some Like It Hot, and True Lies. Both are remakes of foreign films, and both of these were French movies.

Some of the old horror movies, like Invasion of the Body Snatchers and The Fly were also very good remakes, in my opinion.

Others like: The Maltese Falcon & Oceans 11 were received very well and in some ways were better than the original.

But for the most part, remakes fall short of the original, and I think Ghostbusters will be one of those remakes that will not be well received. Especially if the only real difference is that the characters are replaced with women.

I really like the Econ-Pop channel.

A few episodes of that channel explained economics better than the socialist HS and communist CC teachers ever did.

I call Russia the "Land of Opportunity." It's not too difficult to start up a business here. They are still catching up to the West, so there are a lot of things that are new here, which are commonplace in the West.

The big agricultural products here are Sunflower, Winter Wheat, Watermelons. This part of the "Black Earth" region. The top soil is two meters thick.

It is also Russia's wine producing region - down by the Black Sea and Azov Sea.

Plus the image of the battleships sunk at Pearl Harbor, now lined up in a firing squad across Surigao Strait...lots of opportunity there.

Dear Melissa. Not 45. Fifty something. Living in a house I pay for, about 20 miles from Mom. This I can guarantee, you will never see one dime from either of us. Will never see the movie at a theatre or a month later on DVD. You have helped make it an easy decision. Fem on girl, be proud of your flop.

Doesn’t Melissa’s husband usually write the scripts for her movies? I’ve never met her but my aunt is good friends with her parents. The parents are nice, total opposite views of Melissa’s politically.

Yeah, but it’s a business enterprise. All you need to do to express your lack of interest is just to have a lack of interest. Then the movie does badly and they are sad. That is the only punishment they deserve.

Allowing them to get people riled up actually serves their purposes, by A. publicizing the movie and B. fabricating a narrative that there is an ideological backlash to it, in hopes of C. triggering a wave of support for the movie in reaction to that backlash.

Only morons would care about a remeake of Ghostbusters for starters.

A controversy about which gender should act in the movie is simply beyond belief in any rational society.
